Would you buy a built-for-purpose guitar, even if it worked only for one style of music? Why?

Yes. Monsters for metal, classics for blues, superstrats for Rock. Cause it gives me good excuses to buy more guitars.

I have this same guitar. I love it. I guess, the only way you can beat it is to get a J Custom.

I played the fixed brige version a few weeks ago at a local music store. It's an amazing guitar, flawless craftsmanship and sounds/feels as good as it gets. To me this guitar is like a modern Les Paul Custom version of an RG. Looks slick and has that nice black colour with the white binding that I associate with a LP Custom.

I think it's the Boss GT1000-core that makes 90 percent of those sounds. I own one myself (and other modellers). Modellers can't really demonstrate the charakter of a guitar (in my experience), because they tend to make all my guitars sound the same. I use a Laney GH30R head in 4 cable method with the Boss. The Laney is a very raw and dynamic amp, in a way that i sometimes even use a compressor for blues sounds, haha. So i'm hopefull that the compression from the pickups of the RG will not make it too smooth. We'll see. Thanks for the review, it really gave a good impression of what the guitar really is!

Give this guy a cigar for knowing what he's talking about. Most of the demo's on this model Ibanez are being done going through this digital effects stuff ( Kempers, Boss GT 1000's etc.) & you cant possibly tell what a guitar sounds like unless you just run it through a dry amp. I'm thinking of getting one of these by buying online as no stores around me have any in stock but I'm not sure as I should because i can't hear what the guitar really sounds like because of the aforementioned fact! Will somebody please just make a video of this guitar plugged into an amp.

I have the rg652 and it is amazing with different pick ups and not a reversed headstock. I want this also 😊

What’s wrong with the reverse?

You can always go to a technician and ask to change the wire configuration

If it had top side-aligned fret dots, I would have already bought one. The center aligned dots look weird on this aesthetic.

Nice video mate! How heavy is this guitar? About not doing the blues, well that can be subjective, Johnny Winter did play headless Lazers and sounded epic as usual :) cheers

I’ve had this guitar about the year. It’s really great gear for playing hard style of music. The comfort of playing is top notch. But the satin surface on the body becomes glossy over time and the sparkle oily spots appears. And the main point - choose only model with the fixed bridge gibraltar, not zero-edge tremolo. In that case the strings replacing and guitar tuning will take a few minutes literally instead a lot of time in case of zero-edge.

For cleans simply roll the volume down i know them well....they are designed to be versatile that way. Put hair on your clean tone a touch brughter than other cleans and roll the volume down ...there you will find your cleans ... Good 👍🏻 luck 😎👊🏻
