I haven't been back to Clinton Hill in 15 years but it was definitely one of the best Chinese take out in Brooklyn. Just the fact that each order of hot/sour soup is made fresh from scratch and not premade in a big pot they scoop out of, tells what they are about and you can taste the difference.

I was eating there since the '80s. Lived around the corner between Park and Flushing. At one point, they had all 3 adjoining storefronts (for a large sit-down area). If you go there, try the Salted Baked Shrimp w/ General Tso sauce on the side for dipping. Didn't have time to do both when I was there a couple of weeks ago, so Farmer in the Deli won that trip. This video making me feel like another run-up this weekend!!! Kim Kau, Farmer in the Deli and Madina for oils... the Big 3.

Like what you said about the Chow Fun. That's always been my main go to for take out, especially on a cold winter's day or night. If they can do the basic comfort foods right, then you know everything else there is gonna be good, but why pay more for the fancy stuff on the "chef's specials" when the simple stuff is all you need.

California has chicken, pork and veggie egg rolls. We have sweet & sour sauce which taste like duck sauce. I had duck sauce in Indiana with my cousins. I like them both

Welcome to my neighborhood JL 😄 Kum Kau is actually in Fort Greene, Bed Stuy is further down. Live in the Atlanta area now but me and Kum Kau go way way back. My grandmother use to live around the corner so I grew up eating Kum Kau. Enjoy!!!!

Kum Kau had a great reputation several years ago. They were very popular. In my opinion, the quality has gone way down over the years. Me, my friends, and associates don't go there anymore.

I enjoy watching you eat; you always take big bites of rice. Im a rice eater. I love how the white rice is made without salt. Gives you that bland flavor that contrasts so well with all their flavorful dishes. Wish I were back in NY. I'd run right over to this place. Never heard of chicken egg rolls; it looked good.

There was a Chinese restaurant called Sappollo's in Brooklyn. It was a eat in/take out restaurant, who also sold cocktails. Idk why they closed down. They also sold Spanish food. They had some good as* chiken wings.

As of November 2021, in New York restaurants are not allowed to hand out straws to customers unless the customer requests it. Yup pretty stupid if ya ask me 🙄. Great video
