Been riding this trail since 2009 and have loved every second of it. Such a fun trail. Nice to see another video of it & great riding. Great UP stuff! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

@@Captain250FX I'm about 5 hours from Bass Lake myself. It's always worth the trip. Might even do a hooky day trip up there here. Haven't ridden it since last October on my T7.

Lol, it’s been gone. I put a graphic’s kit on about a month ago. I was wondering how long before someone would call me out on that! 🤣

This ride was the first weekend in June so maybe I did graphics after this, can’t remember?

Looks like a fun trail. Will have try and make it up there next spring before all the growth covers the trail.

That’s what we did. We did our little trip the first week of June before stuff gets thick.

Rode this trail August 31st and view of the trail was fine. Sandstormers had done some minor cleanup recently that helped.

Great ride, thanks for sharing. I am looking to run this solo in mid-september. Wondering if it will still be thick and overgrown in sections? Anyone with recent trail reports?

October is when stuff starts to die down up there.

@Captain250FX just rode it last Thursday. Your description was spot on!

When I rode it last month, I saw a sign to ride the connector trail... turns out there is a 48ish mile connector trail that links Porterfield to Bass lake that was recently completed. I do not see gps of it on OnX yet though. There is a FB group, within that they did show a map.
@Captain250FX2 ай бұрын
@@CaptainSkidmark74 yes, I've seen a lot of their posts on FB encouraging people to ride the connector to help burn it in. I'm making an effort to ride that and more in the U.P. this coming June.

If you want something tight and technical try Tomohawk up by Wolverine, great practice for races.

This trail looks fun. I'm looking to take my 12 year old son on a dirt bike trip. I feel he could handle this terrain given his skill level. I have a 21 FX and he has a Crf 125f. How long does it actually take to finish the 24 mile loop? I want to try and find a camp ground near by so we can ride and camp. We are from Illinois but looking for a place to just ride dirt bikes for 2 days basically. Any recommendations? I appreciate all the videos and trails you ride. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Tom! I’m not familiar with campgrounds in that area, we hit this on the way back from Marquette. Time wise just depends on if you stop a lot or your skill level? Roughly two hours at a decent pace with a few breaks. Hope this helps. P.S. it’s a fantastic trail! 🤙🏽

Give yourself ample time. We ran out of daylight on this trail when I was a kid. I was on a 65 and my sister was on an 80. I was skilled in moto but my sister and I held us up quite a bit, especially her. My dad and his buddy had to ride our bikes through some sections and carry them over large log crossings. The large rocky and rooted hill climb was the most daunting (I believe he op was traveling in the opposite direction and did it downhill). At 8 years old I thought it was insane. Long story short; search and rescue came and helped us out with the help of their brightly lit atvs in the darkness. Will be going back as an adult to kick the trails ass soon.

You mentioned that after June this trail is covered in ferns. Is it so overgrown that it would be too difficult to make it through these trails in October. Trying to plan a long weekend trip with my boy, any other recommendations or places appreciated.
@Captain250FX2 жыл бұрын
No, October would be great. I was just up here again September 16th-19th and the ferns are already dying, you’ll be good in October. Better make it the first part of October because the weather changes quick up there.

Rode this August 31 with no issues in terms of ferns at least. The rider on the other hand...
