Hey Oly, I always gotta check in with the best of the JMGO enthusiasts! Been anxiously anticipating your latest JMGO N1 Ultimate projector review! As an owner of the 1080p N1, I understand the difficulty with duplicating on video, the experience of how outstanding this technology is. Although you do a great job with your videos, its definitely a see-it-to-believe-it kind of thing. Im here to give some support to your claims! Truly mind-blowing, and I only have the 1080p model. As you know, I'm one of the DolbyVision holdouts that was hoping this latest iteration would have included it. But given what I've seen so far, I'm leaning toward your sentiment that it likely wouldn't provide a significant step-up in quality. JMGO really did an outstanding job with its laser technology. But, I'm too close to Black Friday to not wait to on the vendors reveal prices. It also buys some time for the 4th quarter comparison reviews on the competitors. I'm still interested in seeing how the new Hisense C2 Pro and XGIMI Horizon S Max compares to the JMGO Ultimate. Great times for us enthusiasts. Thanks for another great review!

I want as many people to know about these amazing JMGO products for those in the market but your enjoyment, comments and feedback make it worth it. I hope that very soon you will be able to enjoy the Ultimate or Ultra and that juicy 4k but also the improved brightness etc. I would give a $100 just to be there and see your face when that day comes and you lite it up for the first time...that would be amazing. ​@@OlyGoalie67 Many reviewers noted that the contrast came up dreadfully sub par on the XGIMI. That may be due to the initial version of their dual LED/Laser technology. Version 2.0 is supposed to address that issue. The Hisense rated well in competition with the JMGO as the primo triple laser lifestyle projectors. The C1 Initially caught my attention with the addition of DolbyVision but soon lost my interest when I found it didn't support 3D mode. The main knock on the Hisense C1 was the low lumens which placed it in a Home Theater/light controlled room- category. That was 2 big strikes for me. But THIS year's model adds 3D and boosts the lumens to 3K. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of the competitive reviews for JMGO vs Hisense 2024. I dont think XGIMI will really stand up as well being that its using that dual light technology , but I'm still curious. Its getting very interesting!!! Great times!!👍

@@GodFear I have to say I thought the N1S Ultra was at the top and couldn't be beaten but the Ultimate is really that...the Ultimate! If I was buying one from scratch I would have to say it would be the Ultimate...even the focus on the Ultimate seems improved but that may just be a placebo but it is a pretty amazing unit. Watching some '8k' KZbin videos last night had me in awe...

@@marcher1955 better to have no ALR, I am using a Elite Screen Aeon Cinewhite 8k Acoustic Transparent screen and there is zero laser speckle and the image is amazing...thanks for watching!

@@Gehrman-qz4ii it is...but the N1S Pro is so darn good...if you have a light controlled room, the N1S Pro is suitable. It still has the MALC 2.0 which is the updated laser system for sharpness and clarity so pretty awesome actually. Thanks for watching!

Great video Oly. I was an early adopter of the N1 ultra via kickstarter campaign just like you. I have been loving it ever since but do you think it’s worth it to sell and upgrade to the N1S ultimate? Are the upgraded features worth the price hike? It’s quite the price jump

Thanks and thanks for watching! If you were going from the N1S Ultra then hard no. From the N1 Ultra, there is a huge difference and not just brightness although that is pretty incredible as well. The chromatic abberation is much improved, so less red and green routine on lettering etc...almost none now. Better sound from the built in speakers which means nothing if you are running it through an amp. Google TV and native Netflix is awesome and a MUCH smoother OS to the point that I rarely even use Apple TV or an external streamer anymore. Lastly, no speckle to be seen whatsoever. It is expensive but check out Vapor Model and others comments on the Discord...this thing is mind blowing. Remember that feeling when you first turned on your N1 and was like...how does this thing look so good...that x 1.5 😂

It is but I did not notice it as much on the N1S and I had used that one for about 4 months but the difference was noticeable from the minute I set up the Ultimate in my HT. I wasn't expecting much of a difference but was surprised in the abberation and alignment of the detail on print etc.

@@OlyGoalie67 I’m very upset with jmgo ,I literally bought the n1s ultra 1 week before they announced the ultimate, they are not even selling it on their website anymore , been replaced by the ultimate, they released the ultimate 1month 1/2 after the n1s ultra. In the menu system/about, the dlp version is 1.0.4 on n1s ultra vs 2.0.4 on n1s ultimate. I think that's the difference

The next iteration, N3, has been introduced for the domestic market at this point, sadly with the same mediocre contrast values. It looks like Valerion will disrupt the lifestyle projector market once it’s out.

@@br1ella129 contrast values can be deceiving though...my N1 Ultra had much lower contrast ratings then say my Epson 5050UB but not only did it stand up the the Epson, I believe it had better black levels in some instances. Dont forget that projector companies seem to like to inflate numbers by ideal lighting conditions etc. I have yet to see one projector that claims higher numbers that the N1 and N1S series that actually out performs them. As mentioned in another comment, maybe when we see the TI . 7 chip might we see actual measurable increases that translate to actual improved contrast.

@@OlyGoalie67 based on resent projectorjunckies test for plus2 model, it's a real deal, he measured 2900/12000 native/dynamic with 1540 lumens calibrated, so the blackfloor is really low, that and many others features makes me thinking we finally getting something decent from a "budget" dlp projectors.

Nope, not at all. Unlike any other laser projector, using an ALR screen for example will 'amplify' the speckle if any. I use an Elite Screens Aeon 8K Acoustic Transparent screen and literally have zero speckle... Like none!

I was quite surprised by the hook up's review and just assumed he must have been using an ALR screen because honestly, and no offense to HU, but I have been using projectors since the 90s and nothing has come close to this line, not even my much more expensive and highly rated Epson 5050UB which there was a time that was considered the best under to 10k before the Sony and JVC line. I will say just from my own usage that you would be literally blown away the first time yoy turn this thing on and now with the N1S Ultimate version, which is higher lumens, it is unbelievable.
