The way that you broke down “impossible things are happening everyday”! It’s amazing that we can often take song lyrics for granted but the way that you conveyed that and related it to your own accomplishments and that of the human experience, simply beautiful. Thank you for your stellar work and content, and may God continue to bless you and increase your territory in all that you wish to achieve! 😊🙏🏾💙

Fun Fact: The Part Of Cinderella Was Originally Offered To Whitney Earlier In Her Career. (A Little Before The Bodyguard) However, After Accepting The Role Of Rachel Marron And Being Consumed In The Whole Whirlwind That Was The Bodyguard, When The Time Came To Do Cinderella, Whitney Was In Her 30s And Felt She Was Too Old To Play The Character. She Personally Called Brandy To Play The Role Because Whitney Felt That Brandy Was “Cinderella.” It Was Settled That Brandy Would Play Cinderella And That Whitney Would Play Her Fairy Godmother. However, Some Executives At Disney, Felt That Having A Black Princess And A Black Fairy Godmother Would Be Too Much And Wanted To Opt Out For A Brandy-Esque “White” Contemporary Like LeAnn Rimes Or Jewel; But By Doing This, They Knew They’d Lose Whitney’s Involvement In The Film! They Kept Brandy And The Movie Amassed 60 Million Viewers When It Premiered On ABC!

You hit on something I’ve been thinking about lately. When talking about how it makes you feel because this is the way a lot of black kids would see a fairy god mother. I remember a lot of vocal coaches talking about how it’s not fully theater because of the r&b vibes. But they don’t understand that we have soul in everything we do. The same way people were mad about the tiny change Halle made to the “wish I could be” part of “Part of your world”.

I will never forgive Sylvia Rhone and Atlantic Records for not signing off on the soundtrack. Truly a missed opportunity for Brandy. Whitney was very disappointed by that. yep! Something to love about her. In her words, " a fan of REAL singers, very rarely do I listen to people who cannot sing" If she gassed you, you know you were the ish. Always loved that loving smirk she gave Brandy on the Behind the scenes when they were singing "Impossible" and brandy does that minor interval. I think she would've been incredibly proud of Brandy's present vocal ability. She always wanted her to sing out. She probably would've called Brandy up after she heard Deliver Me or Freedom Rings. That woman was so gifted and beloved, yet gave as much love as she received.

When I say I literally just cried this weekend watching the Whitney Houston movie on Netflix… only to come here and see her sing one of my favorite songs sang by her. This is the GOAT version of Cinderella and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. I love Julie Andrews (how can you not), but this version is just pure magic. I can't remember if it was in the retrospective that came out recently for the 25th Anniversary or if it was interviews from before, but I remember hearing cast and production team commenting that this was a passion project for Whitney and that she pushed hard for Brandy to be Cinderella, to the point of essentially making them a package deal. Brandy talked a lot about how nurturing it was to sing and work with Whitney for this role and to tell this particular story, especially in the 90s. Definitely worth seeking out.

This was such a genius movie and the way you described both brilliantly executed techniques of Brandi and Whitney vocally as well as lyrically. So spot on and honestly I got very emotional because the words of each song is relating very heavily in this moment in my life. Losing my mom almost a month ago and being a singer and figuring life out after being her caregiver, has been a lot to adjust too, because seeing this. Being taken back to a nostalgic place with this movie, your energy, your expertise. Everything just came together beautifully and I thank you for sharing this video for it has blessed me to remember to keep movie forwards. That as a singer whose now working towards my artistry now and growth, I can have more faith knowing Impossible things are happening everyday because there are times reality sets in and some things aren’t the best now but it will be and there is music in me that I need to tap into and release. So thank you Jaron! What you do is so appreciated! 🙏🏾✨😇

Loved your analysis of this! I couldn't watch this without getting teary-eyed listening to Whitney 🥹. Her voice is heaven sent. Her & Brandy made such a beautiful duo in this movie. I remember watching this movie as a little girl & really believing in myself ❤
