What also people do not know is dat these JMPD employees tarnishes de image of de JMPD department due to their bad conduct in de community & they r now have confused de community as the law enforcement. Now what r these people teaching de community, dat public drinking is allowed?? Dat using de state resources for ur own personal reason is allowed?? End year parties or events can be done by all public servants in a proper dignified manner without bringing de name of de department into disrepute or dispute. I love de statement from MMC Chacu dat they should have been known it better dan someone else who never been employed by de state, now this tells u dat there is a strong policy document dat all public servants should know & follow regarding how should they conduct themselves as public servants & the use of state resources. This policy document is presented to all public servants on the first month of employment & usually it is done during induction period before employees start to work. Now all of these JMPD officials involved in this case will not have an excuse of not knowing the policy document and all de guidelines regarding their conduct. This is unfortunate event or incident & the heads must roll.

The state resources were not abused. The JMPD did a very good job showing police presence a moment of peace and confidence in the safety provided by the police. These ladies seem very secure and happy a new ordeal in violent South Africa. I say a good job JMPD

So this is a step in the right direction - citizens documenting the current state of affairs from government staff. We must do this for all departments.

This conduct by officers is not condoned, however the question is, does the city provide the formal induction training to these officers so they understand the do's & donts for the officers on-duty & off-duty?

The public safety MMC saying he applied the EFF cardinal pillar 7 to the issue is pushing EFF political agenda. This is not a political issue but a behavioral issue by city employees. And the metro has its own disciplinary code and procedures to deal with problems of staff. Corruption, unauthorized use of city resources, consumption of alcohol, etc are all part of the disciplinary code. But glad to see this blatant act in broad daylight is taken seriously. The task of the police is meant to uphold public discipline but when they behave badly what kind of behavior do you expect from the public?

lol he mentioned EFF a lot actually. He snuck in a comment about patience that he learned from EFF and also advertised their upcoming NPA
