Jo-El called my husband, Albert Lee, about three weeks ago to join him in Louisiana sometime soon to play at an event he was just beginning to plan. Albert had a great time playing in a band Jo-El put together with Garth Hudson, Lawrence Juber and Steve Duncan on drums. The bassist Greg Humphrey’s went to heaven 20 years or so ago. Missing our uniquely talented and fun dear friend.

I was 10years old working at Mom's Cajun Kitchen on Friday and Saturday night Joel Sonnier was a number one all time favorite for everybody met him a couple of times Also Warren Storm I love our culture and miss that lil Restaurant that was open 24/7 and most of the time the line would all the way down the side of the building my grand parents were awesome and everyone knew them and loved Mom and my Grand Father known as Dad I would give anything to relive those awesome nights and hear this song cranked up on the juke box also I can't leave out Tip Crockett check out his version of Hank Williams Sr song (I CAN'T HELP IT IF I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU) everybody thought Elvis Preslsey has recorded this song but in fact Elvis never did BUT MY UNCLE TIPPY DID AND IT'S THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG BY HANK SR AGAIN HIS NAME Is TIP CROCKETT I miss him too .....just had to share a little memories to my cajun brothers and sisters

Can ya ask him if I can get his blessing on doing a studio remake of this song? Heck, show him my music page or spotify if you want. I'm a long-term terminally ill southern rock musician from the upper Mississippi Delta Region who records, mixes, sings, and does all my own instruments etc. Distantly related to the Jennings bunch, but you can probably tell by my voice.

@@JWGauntt We lost our only old timey radio station in our area. I count on you and one other dude on here to remind me of the older stuff. This takes me back ( and seems like just a few years ago LOL ) but this was the year that my husband and me moved into our first little house ( that we stayed at for 30 years ) LOL. Now we are in our toes up house and got grands ( lol ). I had brought a radio with me to move in ( I was doing most the moving in while he worked ) but no one plays the wonderful old stuff any more and I did not have my YT yet lol. I had to ( gasp ) get by on what they call country music now. Ick. ( gag ) lol. This is one of those songs like "He stopped loving her today ( 1980 but it coulda been from 1950 ) that sounds like it could have been from '57 instead of 87. A true classic. TY.

George Strait is legendary, a great and original singer and artist. It's the inclination of record execs to try and make 10,000 subpar copies of anything successful that has ruined country music.

George Strait was and is true traditional country. He helped lead the New Traditionalist movement in the early 80s with Ricky Skaggs and a couple others that brought country music out of the poppish Nashville Sound morass.
