some teachers don't sing the notation of songs and bandishes which is not good for new students but you do sing the notation which is very helpful. The students should firstly memorise the notation like they have learnt ABCD... and then they can play the notation on an instrument like harmonium or any other keyboard instrument etc.The written notes are also very helpful. I am a school teacher and i know how students learn especially the slow students-kya kare sab ka samaj sab ka dimaag ka shakthi ek jaisa nahi hai. Duniya usko dumb/slow/ kehtein hain but sab mein seekhnay ki chamtha hai. A good video Siddhant-keep it up.
