Sherlock just has the sweetest, most overjoyed smile on his face as he says the words, “cancer-free.” You can just tell how proud of her he is. I’ll love them forever. Johnny and Lucy did such a phenomenal job; they captured the characters in a unique, meaningful and vivid way and my heart along the way. I hope we’ll get to see more of them together someday, even if it’s not as our legendary Sherlock and Joan. 😭❤️

I loved this series and how ended things as them being just platonic yet best friends. No romance, no drama, nothing. They're family. Plus Lucy Liu was absolutely amazing. It was a refreshing new look for Watson. This was a very very different version of Sherlock Holmes . This one had very expressive feelings, he felt love, he was a real addict and had actual struggles with sobriety. I love the BBC version but this was such a nice adaptation.

I like the show and it's nice when they don't have the sexual tension... Did you see an interview Lucy did around the premiere of the show? The interviewer asked what she would have thought of this on TV and she said they didn't watch TV growing up. I think that comment really messed with the popularity. As if people that own a television are everything except intelligent. The funny thing, she and I are the same age. I grew up in a well-heeled family, we had all the electronics of the time LOL Yet the very funny thing is, there was not a lot of television to watch when I was growing up. Good or bad! We watched cartoons on Saturday mornings. They didn't go on all day 😂 Evening news was a stable. Sitcoms and dramas were on past most children's bedtime. I think her comment came across as elitist, maybe a little like her parents cared more for her than everyone else's parents did. I only saw the one interview, but it's not like I watch a lot of talk shows either. It just is something I saw and thought she was doing a great disservice to the show. I wonder if the agents got together and put the kibosh on it all! I would have.

i think both series went in very different directions with their interpretation of sherlock holmes in modern times. So grading one higher then the other seems inapropiate for me. Personally i prefare the bbc-version but i get why others like elementary more

Castle, Lucifer, Bones... All these are AWESOME tv series that I loved from the beginning until the end, but the fact that Elementary remained awesome without the two main characters becoming a couple is really something unique.

The major mistale had been to limit the show to some kind of Supetrvilllans trying to fight not just Holmes but also all of his famaiy< and friends - and that not only once bit severaö times. Also there were to many Final Episodes at the end of the later seasons. THAT was to boring

My all-time favorite Sherlock Holmes adaptation. I still rewatch the series until today. I will always miss Sherlock, Joan, Detective Bell, Captain Gregson, Kitty- even Morland Holmes! This series made me feel happy in times of loneliness and depression. ♥️♥️♥️

I like ELEMENTARY much more as the Britosj seroes SHERLOCK. It hits more the classical style. AND YES,, I have read all the original Short Stories by Conan Doyle I love the body language in this scene. Both are walking tall next to each other telling everyone they are equals by now. That is a change from the earlier episodes.

I, too, thought it was really sad that his brother kept trying so hard to reach out to him. Had to ask Joan, how does one become Sherlock Holmes' friend. Had to hug him and say "I love you, brother" and still the only reason we get from Sherlock for his disdain of Mycroft is that he's lazy. On top of that Mycroft had cancer, recovered, and then just dies quietly on an island having gone into hiding to protect them. The whole Joan getting kidnapped by the French wasn't all his fault so much as Joan not being good enough not to get caught taking their picture. But yes, he invited her to that restaurant and allowed them to visit at the same time in view of each other. Why didn't they have a private dining room to discuss their matters? I guess now we see why Sherlock hates his laziness. And he did almost get Joan and his own head blown off because he waited centuries after the Frenchmen told their henchman to kill them before saying "paint it black." Good lord, they drove off and it was another few minutes that they were standing around before he said it.

Same for Morland. Tried so hard to reach out to Sherlock to repair their relationship. Got rejected each time. But if you think about their history, you really can't blame Sherlock. Sent to a different boarding school than Mycroft right after his mother died in a fire living in an old apartment without adequate fire protocols after their divorce. Not only that. Coming to the brownstone unannounced to take his mother's ring to use as a bribe to someone. Having Sherlock investigate the murder of his girlfriend whom he clearly loved more than Sherlock's mother. Really should have hired someone, anyone else to do that. Didn't approve Joan's request for an extension after Sherlock's first risk of relapse. Joan stayed on unpaid to make sure he got through that period.

I don't think it would be character-consistent for her. In the episode where she reads her therapist's notes on her, the therapist thinks she has strong maternal instincts and expresses those through her care-taking of Sherlock. For him, she is the mother/father he never got. His mother died when he was young. His father was never around and continued to make meetings where "father never shows." Really horrible. She shares his love of crime-solving but also pushes him to go to meetings when he doesn't seem right. She's the only caretaker he's ever had that he can trust. If they were real people, it would be detrimental for him to make her a romantic partner. He relapsed the first time she moved out of the brownstone to have her own place. What happens if his only parent-figure loves him and leaves him? Who will he have left? Alfredo won't be enough. Other people at his meetings are unreliable. There was that one guy who copied every inspiration thing he said and put it on a website, completely ruining his ability to share anymore at the meetings. She's worth more to him as a companion/partner than a romantic partner. Joan is also a woman of great integrity. How would she feel about her self as a person if she had a relationship with a former client? Not like she fixed a broken arm. Her addict clients need to trust her. I do admit the show did a lot of misleading things on the romantic front. He bought an entire outfit for her to wear once. He named a bee after her. There was the weird scene where he holds a boombox above his head at the end of the staircase like in the movie "Say Anything" but for no plot reason at all. He was about to leave all his money to her after only knowing her a few years (of course, later he decided to give it to charity). She yells at him about not going to Shinwell's funeral with the tone and expectation of a gf. Out of all the funerals he didn't need to go to, it would be that of Shinwell who betrayed his trust. Plus, if they got together, Moriarty would have had to take her out.

What do you mean? She had to have pajamas on every time he woke her. They don't solve these puzzles in a day so she had to change across days. She went jogging in the mornings as well. You don't notice him changing clothes that much because he puts in all-nighters and its part of his character to not care about his appearance. Standard Hollywood protocol is also that women cannot wear the same outfit twice across the series.

Hated the fact that the final antagonist of the series was plot nerfed at the end. The last episodes seem rushed and that final plan was trash. Also the other antagonist, Jamie Moriarty, they are teasing a great confrontation from the last seasons and they rushed and plot nerfed her ending....nothing happened. Every episode was great....except the last 2 of the final season 🙄🙄

I think they got abruptly canceled the final season. The whole CEO vigilante just didn't make sense. Sure the part where he sells his AI to countries for big brother watching makes sense. CEOs care about profit. However, his whole putting aside company money for a side venture (taking people out based on their online rants) that brings in zero dollars and is just a huge liability doesn't make sense at all. No CEO would do that. And the fact that he patiently waits to get Joan & Sherlock's approval of his methods doesn't make sense at all either.
