No actress in Hollywood had more beauty and more class than John Bennett.. Loved her !

I can’t believe there was no mention of her being on Dark Shadows! The work she did on that show and feature film literally re- introduced her to a whole new generation of fans and their children as well!
@aeichler5 жыл бұрын
That puzzled me as well. Also no mention of "Suspiria," which went on to become a real classic.

This was before Movie Stars took TV roles so I imagine her role on Dark Shadows wasn't celebrated purposely. Not that it was shameful for Ms Bennett to do that role because she proved ahead of her time but is it possible they were instructed that the interview was to talk only movies and family?

Thank you for posting this great interview. Truly, one of my favourite actress of the Golden Era. Liked her in her blonde period, but truly her best performance is in The Reckless Moment. Her performance as Lucia Harper is a greatly underrated

@noel8887 жыл бұрын
part of that explanation of going from blonde to brunette was true. The movie was "Trade Winds", where she starts off as a blonde involved with murder, so she ran and disguised herself as a brunette, which in turn was admiration she and the Hollywood circle had for the first appearance of Hedy lamarr in joans husband, Walter Wanger, movie "Algiers". ..she even went as far as parted her hair down the middle. The commedians of that era always made jokes about her borrowing Hedy's hair.
@thejupiter25746 жыл бұрын
and then the rest as they say is history. Ms. Bennett looked totally different as a blonde, very pretty but as a brunette she was awesome.
@daddy22995 жыл бұрын
The columnist Lox Smith said the Lamarr comparison didn't last long because Joan was more talented and had no trouble out-acting her.

A show for seniors called "Over Easy". Hugh Downs was the original host, followed by Frank Blair, and then Mary. It came from San Francisco and that's when she had her tragic taxi accident with Janet Gaynor.

The real one was only married once. This woman is like Roslyn Carter's sideshow. She was Nora., VERA. Her daughter was Jane Russell who also played June Carter. She was married to James Joyce. They never divorced. Her daughter was with John Wayne who also played Johnny Cash. They WERE married to each other for years no other spouses EVER. WHAT'S WITH ALL THE HOLLYWEIRD HORSECRAP?
