I am interested in the ASL being used here. Aside from being really impressed, I wonder if there will be a separate video that shows the breakdown of ASL being used like words for words?

I'm never tired listening this powerful song. It could to be the perfect soundtrack for any Joan of Arc's movie, for example 1998 miniseries played by L. L. Sobieski.

This song is at the top of my "epic" playlist when I come home from work and get to my life. I use the slideshow "Warhammer 40k: Sisters of Battle" version posted elsewhere on YT. It's just perfect. "Life is more than our work, and our work is more than our jobs" -- Charlie Parker, folk singer

Oh this is the last one? Oh, I miscounted somewhere lol I was secretly hoping you'd do this one, honestly (: Very lovely interpretation!

Ok, I promise I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but I do actually know quite a lot of the individual signs that should be used in this song, almost none of which I saw here. 😰 As with my previous comment on the morrigan video, the timing of signs does not at all match up with what’s happening musically, and I can’t even find that double pound of the chest to see what sign that is supposed to be. Is this perhaps BSL or pidgin? Because it is not ASL or SEE and I’m kinda sad now.

1) ASL has a different grammatical structure to English, so the signs would not appear in the same order as the English lyrics 2) In simultaneous interpretation there is usually a delay between what's being said in English and what's being said in ASL. You can see that she's signing things a few seconds after they've been sung 3) One of the major parts of language interpretation, especially when interpreting poetry and songs, is that they're not translating the exact lyrics word for word. The interpreter is taking the concepts from the original lyrics and essentially re-writing the song in ASL 4) Like with spoken languages, signed languages have dialects, so it's possible the interpreter is using different signs than you're familiar with because they're from a different part of the country Hope this helps

I believe the interpreter in this video is Tamyka Bullen, a deaf poet who speaks fluent ASL. You can find some of her poetry on KZbin. I think it's safe to say she's qualified

@@idhyow ah, I’m just learning and I guess all of the songs I’ve seen signed were more SEE, and I’ve been able to identify signs I know. There’s also the problem of regional accents with asl that make it harder as a learner. Part of the reason I was so confused because I knew the signer was deaf. I’m glad there’s stuff like this out there for all people to enjoy and I always appreciate learning new things about any language I’m learning.

They are not translating the songs in ASL but the storytellers are retelling what the songs are about in ASL. That is why the words are not matching the lyrics and the music.
