THANK YOU! I've always wanted to see this footage. Joan was absolutely dazzling!! I would recommend the book "The Reporter Who Knew Too Much" about Kilgallen... very interesting.

Found clip to be initially eerie (knowing Kilgallen's demise later that year), but our beloved JC's grand entrance changed that!

I have found that sometimes people who are often written off as mere cranks for holding a view which opposes a prevailing view of an individual to be, in fact, pretty sound in their perspective (when I have done a genuinely thorough deep dive into the available information about that individual). I was intrigued by your comments on the trailer for the new Dunaway doc, and thought I should check your channel out. I will watch some of your videos and probably do such a deep dive in my spare time - which I promise will be very wary of what turn out to be unreliable sources. Thank you for providing this resource and a starting point for an interesting personal research project of my own. Always keen to take on new (to me) information about prevailing narratives. 🙂

Someone did a great job filming this, must have been with a Super 8 movie camera? 8mm you had to flip over after about 2 minutes to expose other side of film, getting about 4 minutes a reel total, Super 8 was much easier a cartridge you didn’t have to flip over. (But I don’t know, just a guess from what was around at that time) Really nice to see!!

The music is the opening titles from the film Joan is promoting, Strait=Jacket. It really fits the visuals!

This is an instrumental version of the song "There Goes That Song Again" by Russ Morgan. The song was used throughout the film, and was introduced at the start of the film. It was playing on the jukebox when Lucy's husband was with Stella at the roadhouse. It's from 1945, and was a means to keep bringing Lucy's past into modern day.
