Bobbie Wygant interviews Joan Jett for "Light of Day". This interview is from '80s, I guess.

You can tell she's staring directly into the interviewer's eyes the entire time. I think that would be both awesome and intimidating.

Yeah, very awkward to. If you're anything like me, looking people straight in the eyes makes you want to laugh- it gives me the giggles. So, I have no idea how I'd handle Joan.

Ya, at the beginning, the interviewer slightly Starts STUTTERING..Then composes herself. THATS what happens to STRAIGHT WOMEN when they meet Joan. NOW.. THINK OF BEING EYE TO EYE. ZOWIE!!!!! 🙉🎸

as a kid..back when dinos ran the earth, like the 80's..I was asked "if you had to pick three women rock starts to walk down a dark alley who would they be?" for which I replied..Pat Benatar, Lita Ford and of course Joan Jett..but then again I would not walk down a dark alley to begin with..but if I had too.

What an amazing person Joan Jett is !!! Like so many others that have commented, I have been a huge fan since the early 80's, the MUSIC spoke tome and I fell in love with the Lady, her posters on my wall, even a drum stick from a show. I've seen her 11 times and was in the crowd of the Do ya Wanna Touch video. She gives every show everything she has. I agree she is beautiful, her eyes, that smile and she had 'hair' that is for sure. I have all the Joan Jett music but today I've been watching 'Interviews' and her speaking voice is very calm and peaceful but what moved me the most is what a "Class Act" she is, very intelligent, articulate, respectful and kind. No matter when or who she talks to she is consistent and true. Like all her fans, she just REALLY loves the MUSIC. One more thing I want to mention as a Veteran, Joan Jett is to be commended, she has done so many USO shows for the troops, she is the Bob Hope of our generation !!! She is the 'real deal', one of the most admirable and amazing people in the world today. As awesome as her music is and as hot and sexy as she certainly is, her most redeeming quality is without a doubt her beautiful personality !!! I have met 2 presidents and I would give anything to have just 1 chance to meet her and just talk to her...!!! Is it just me, has anyone else noticed in her eyes and that smirk she could pass as Elvis' sister...

I love this interviewer. I seen her interview a lot of people from the brat pack and she always has been so nice and sweet and kind and funny and sweet. She's so underated and my generation who love the 80s and rock n roll or movies or actors and actresses hate on this interviewer for stupid reasons. This Bobbie lady is the most maturest interviewer ever.

What I admire even more than her music is that she succeeds to keep her personal life, including her sexual orientation, completely closed for the public. After all, who are we that we should want to know? That is a thing I call class.
@storybellz4 жыл бұрын
She pretty much came out in 2018 though. Just look up the NY Times interview she did in September of that year. She made it quite clear that she's lesbian.
@valentineaugust42213 жыл бұрын
Would you say this if she wasn’t queer? I think this is strange considering every straight rockstar puts their sexual orientation front and center, it’s an essential part of their career. Saying she keeps it closed is also wrong considering she’s produced a semi auto-biographical movie about the runaways where her character was visibly queer. Hiding or centering your sexuality isn’t a matter of class, it’s a matter of preference and comfort.

You know - since I was a 14 year old back in the early 1980's - I truly adored her - just because she was talented - but a little bit later in my own life, I found myself in a local band as well. I also had my one and only Son, Julien ( or sadly, as people "used to call children born out of wedlock - "illegitamate" which makes it sound like your child - simply because you were NOT married - that they somehow were NOT 'LIGITIMATE - OR - REAL!) I'm glad to see THAT term no longer in use - the only thing worse would be to call a child a bastard. And, VERY sadly, my beautiful Son, who incidently took his own life at just 13 years old (thus leaving me the shell of the woman I once was) - my OWN MOTHER told Julien at just five years old that "HE was a bastard!" I know this because I came home from work one night - thankfully right before I got my own apartment here in Florida - I could've KILLED my Mother for telling him something SO cruel! He came up to me when I got home and got my hug and kiss he looked at me and said in his beautiful little voice "I'm a bastard." Very, matter of factly. 😲😢 I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I ripped my Mother a new one as soon as he was asleep. I asked "I don't care if you're upset with me - but WHY? WHY would you SAY SUCH A HORRIBLE THING?" WHY? She said "Well, that's what it means " Which I reliplied - STILL - THAT IS NO REASON TO TELL HIM THAT - HE'S FIVE YEARS OLD FOR CHRISTSAKE - AND IT HASN'T EVEN HELD THAT DISGUSTING MEANING IN QUITE SOME TIME. Needless to say, I had A LOT of damage repair to do - and I STILL LOST HIM - I know why she told him - for the same reason that she told me at about 13 years old that I was a "mistake & very umwanted - but her birth control FOAM failed her - and she felt she HAD to have me. In a word, my Mother was insane and honestly she NEVER should've had any children! She passed away from breast cancer and towards the end - we somehow grew closer - but I never grieved her due to both the verbal and physical abuse she hurt me with - along with my alchoholic Father. At least my I NEVER struck my Son - nor tell him that he was EVER "INCONVIENIENT" OR UNLOVED. And, thanks to some bullies in school and having a case of high functioning Autism. He didn't tell me - not even his best friends which he had about four mostly his age of course - but his "adopted big brother" who always wanted a "little brother" - Chad he was 21 and he adored Julien. He attempted to take his own life on the train tracks the way my Son had - but thank God - I at least had the sense to call 911 and tell the police. I wish the "anonymous adults" who watched my Son crying his eyes out that Monday morning who just watched him sobbing on the tracks and DIDN'T CALL THE POLICE UNTIL THE TRAIN KILLED HIM! I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY WERE EVEN THINKING... Anyhow, Joan Jett will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart! R. I. P To my love & my life Julien....

Umm,back in the early 90's one of the women in my tattoo circle was 55 years old, not a rocker but her tattoo artist took her to see Joan Jett. She loved it. She called me up the next day to tell me all about it and said "Now I want to see this Lita Ford you are so into" She was a grandmother of 3 at the time. I am now 2 years younger than my friend was when she first saw Joan Jett. Very cool woman.

😂 The "big wide shoulders" are from the massive shoulder pads people wore in the 80's. Try checking out more recent footage of her or even anything pre-1980, without the shoulder pads she looks much less broad shouldered. And anyway, women come in all shapes and sizes, my dude. Your comment is both misogynistic AND transphobic, congrats on being a complete wanker. 🙄
