Got a bit of a question - there are mentions that she actually rejected the sword that was given, and instead went to a nearby chapel, where she found a sword (in this, she was also supposedly advised by the divine powers). Did this come up at all during your research? I know this is a small detail, but I feel like it adds even more weight to her story.

Jehanne la Pucelle had 4 swords, which are all well-known and a German short Messer which was very popular during that period since it could be taken by the blade with the left hand and had a ''hook'' at the end of the pommel. 1. A sword given by Robert de Bandricourt. 2. The sword from the Church of Fierbois. 3. A extremely well-made Burgundian sword , she took on the battlefield, at Lagny 4. The Clermont' sword, given by the city. The sword of Fierbois is the one which certainly generates great debates. Jehanne knew about that particular sword, since she had stopped at Fierbois, near Chinon for nearly two days. It was not really a divine intervention, since she saw the sword behind the alter. She also said there numerous old ''ferrailles'' behind the alter. There are 3 different versions how she obtained that Fierbois' sword. No wonder the confusion. At the beginning, it was believed that sword was the famous sword of Charles Martel. It is not possible, since the Church was built centuries after Martel. Also, a near 700 year old sword would have been badly and extremely rusted, especially in a humid climate ! It was the sword of Bertrand du Guesclin, from Brittany. When he died, he gave his sword to the Duke of Orléans. When the Duke died, his widow gave the sword to the Admiral of France, Pierre de Brebant Clignet. And, when he died his widow brought the sword to be placed behind the church alter. It was a fashion during the Medieval period. It was not rusted since it was placed behind the alter , late 1428 and Jehanne was in Fierbois, in February 1429. This famous sword disappeared in a few years. When Jehanne was asked about that famous sword, she only said, it was lost ! No other explanation was provided. About one hundred year after her death in 1431, a story came about that Jehanne had broken the blade on the back of a ''lady of the night'' since it was said, it was an ''old rusty sword''. As we saw earlier, it was not a rusty or a falling apart sword. Possibly this story came about to add a religious dimension to the story of Jehanne. There were hundred of such '''women'' following the army and the mercenaries. It was also common, even some soldiers had their wife inside the camp since most time , it was a siege and it took months and months. Now, why making so much efforts to obtain that particular sword from the Church of Fierbois ?

The video says Joan "began to dress in men's suits", which is misleading: historians have pointed out that the soldiers who escorted her to Chinon said they were the ones who brought up the idea of providing her with soldiers' clothing for practical reasons, and the Royal government then provided her with armor. It's also misleading to say that she took over the leadership of the army and allegedly described herself that way in a letter: she later denied having dictated that part of the letter (which must have been added by the scribe), and the Royal records list the full command structure, showing that there was always a nobleman in command. The nobles said they often asked her for advice because they believed she was divinely inspired, but she didn't lead directly. Likewise, she said she didn't fight: “during attacks I carried the banner, to stay out of any killing; and I have never killed anyone.”
