She was so young good lord definitely a martyr. Imagine yourself at barely nineteen, a young woman accused of heresy, illiterate made to defend yourself with the idea that whatever you say will still be used against you regardless! That added to the fact that the tribunal of course is a lot more smarter than you and will do anything to make you mess up your versions. Possibly even doubt yourself. Threaten you with torture and other derogatory acts. It's so vile and low grade that no words can really describe this. Besides, you're in chains, a men's jail. The heck are you supposed to even expect? Not even the environment she was placed is was respectable or dignified.

In relevance of the execution of prominent female figures in the ancient times, In the Western World's Middle Ages, Joan of Arc was executed by burning because she repeatedly wear men's clothes during her involvement in the military, which is heavily dominated by males. While in the Eastern World's Ming Dynasty, Consort Duan and Concubine Wang Ning were the masterminds of the Palace Plot of the Renyin Year to kill Jiajing Emperor, including the 15 palace maids as their accomplices to the crime. So far, a total of 17 suspects were quickly resulting to Ling Chi, meaning death by slow slicing.

This is not 100% accurate in real life. But in this series, she was making it known that she knew that the bishop is in coercion with the English and that he will be killed if he will fail to make her look like a witch. That paper is a letter that says Joan is admitting that she use devil power and witch craft to achieve what she did.

Burned at the stake in a snow scene? She was burned on 30 May, well into spring. She was pretty much burned for cross-dressing when they did not hold her in conditions that made it safe for her to put on female dress, away from rough guards out to sexually abuse her. I wonder what happened to the clothes she was burned for?

Peter O'Toole brilliant in this although the real Bishop wasn't exactly kind and merciful as he is portrayed in this story I think once she got the king to rance and got him crowned she should have have gone home because once the King got what he wanted out of her he he completely just discarded because she was no more used to him

After her capture at Compiegne Burgundians kept her in captivity at Beaurevoir Castle but instead of Charles petitioning her release she was bought out by the English whom placed her under arrest and transferred her to Normandy's capital city Rouen which was in English control at the time.

She was getting violated and raped ever since she agreed to wear women's clothing but later wore men's attire again days later as she preferred to die rather than endure imprisonment, rape attempts and be true to her beliefs.

First if all watch your language. God doesn't have to prove himself to any of us. We are the ones that live and die. Yet we put materialism and lust before God. Yet we are never truly happy cause we defy God and disobey him but continue to behave the same. But I tell you this God is real and does reveal a piece of the devine to some of his children. And he allows them to experience a piece of that heavenly joy here. God calls all of us to live holy lives, to true repentance of sin and humility.

Those words are incorrect. The children of the world, even though many say they believe in God, choose to follow the world instead of being faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ. Many say they believe in God but celebrate sin or look the other way in the midst of great diabolical sin. The Lord is quite displeased with humanity. Our Lord calls all of humanity to true repentance of sin and not be indifferent to sin.

This is white supremacy and here's why. What I didn't like, as opposed to depicting the brutal reality of Medieval times in hopes of learning about/reflecting upon progress of the human race, this tends to glorify the feudal/outdated authority caucasian people had, romanticizing this notion to the viewer, that indeed, this is certainly the case, or at least should be, in modern day society, relative to one's own perspective. I dont believe Medieval people were this beautiful in most cases either.

Think about a Shakespeare play, versus how this discourse of Medieval social norms is portrayed here, for example. Theatre leaves more to the imagination of the viewer to think about the communicated narrative, where this colors everything in the most attractive way possible according to the film-maker.
