I love everything about this piece! Great swinging arrangement, Scott excellent as usual. The singer is very good ( and new to me). Sauque does a wonderful, flawless trumpet solo. And the piano player is just so good, not only on the solo , but throughout the entire piece of music. Double bravo!

I am simply astounded every time I watch a Joan Chamorro video! The musical competency of such young musicians, never a sour note to be heard. The mix of senior accomplished musicians with veritable children musicians is something I’ve never seen before. Finally, the many enchanting and lovely songbirds with their impeccable command of the English lyrics of these wonderful American standards is mystifying. What an immense credit to Spain these lovely videos bring!

Joan...listening again as I write this...Woww wow wow, Gabriella beautiful and her voice very rich in the low notes, adult-like. Now - who can be smoother on the sax for this delightful old tune than the Great Scott Hamilton?! Joan Mar looking neater in haircut, shave maybe? Very handsome and equally smooth in his Trumpet solo, beautifully done. Jose also in his piano solo nice light touch. He's new to me, good to see him and all the new young faces in the band. Gabriela y su mentor Medina tocando con la SAJB del maestro Chamorro. No era la primera vez y creo que no será la última. La actual escasez de voces femeninas y masculinas en la Sant Andreu (sólo Claudia Rostey y Koldo Munné ejercen de vocalistas propios en los dos últimos años) obliga a buscarlas fuera. Y a tirar de las ex, cuando sus agendas lo permiten. Lejos quedan aquellos maravillosos años donde coincidían en el escenario, con la camiseta negra distintiva de la banda, Andrea, Eva, Magalí, Rita, Joana, Alba, Abril ... todas grandes cantantes. Cuestión de ciclos, espero. Gabriela tiene buena voz y mucho estilo, puede llegar a consagrarse en poco tiempo. Lleva bien su carrera, siguiendo el camino de las chicas de la SAJB: Jazz y Bossa Nova, con un grupo estable compacto y sin fisuras (Medina, Xirgu y Santana). Gran promesa, ya con premios en su mochila. José Alberto es el mejor pianista de Jazz de Canarias y uno de los 10-12 mejores de España, donde hay mucho nivel y competencia, sobre todo en Cataluña: Terraza, Coloma, Monné, Martín, Doménech, Delgado, Saigí, Palazzi, Mezquida, Tamarit ... Y está llevando fenomenal la carrera de Gabriela, en mi opinión. Scott, pues como siempre, uno de los más grandes de la historia, viviendo su segunda (o tercera) juventud entre los chavales de la Sant Andreu. Sauqué sigue su imparable carrera al estrellato, creciendo más y más cada día, sin prisas pero sin pausas, con mucho trabajo y humildad. De Chamorro y su chavalería, que comentar ya a estas alturas, está todo dicho millones de veces. Unos genios que se merecen mucho más reconocimiento, respeto y apoyo de las autoridades e instituciones patrias, catalanas y españolas. Por ejemplo, ya está tardando la nominación de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band al premio Princesa de Asturias de las Artes. ¿Qué es pedir peras al olmo? Eso me temo, sí ...

This is a great version of an old classic. Gabriela does a great job, as do the soloists. But there seems to be a little confusion about her. AFAIK, she is not an SAJB band member, new or old. She is a singer from the Canary Islands, where she has been singing with the Fábrica Isleta/ Borondon Big Band. The director of that band (and founder of the Fábrica Isleta) is Jose Alberto Medina, who plays the piano so well on this cut. There is a history of members of the two groups playing with each other, and a rather large contingent of the band visited the Canaries last year and performed at a couple of different venues, including playing with the local band. Gabriela sang in that performance, and was outstanding. I hope she will keep coming back to Barcelona, and that we'll see more of her. Don't know where you got the idea that all members of the SAJB actually graduated from there. For example Scott Hamilton is a USA top jazz musician, Josep Traver is not a recent graduate of that great school and recently Anastasia Ivanova sat in for several months and is a great singer and musician from Russia. SAJB is great because of the talent Joan Chamorrow puts together. Just listen to the MUSIC and ENJOY.

Toujours ce magnifique big band; j'ai tellement apprécié le naturel, la spontanéité, l'authenticité des chanteuses telles de Andrea, Magali, Rita, Alba, Joana, Eva... Je trouve que Gabriela est dotée d'un beau talent mais qui gagnerait à être porté avec plus d'authenticité et moins de manières qui ne sonnent pas vrai .Je suis un peu dur, mais je le dis dans un sens constructif ... Ce n'est bien sûr que ma manière de ressentir les choses...
