I'm not musician but have been an avid jazz fan for a long time. I go back to Duke,Bird,Diz,Miles,Brownie and all the others.Yep I'm that old. In January 2022 I discovered Joan Chamorro and the San Andreau organization.i have become totally fascinated and addicted (in a good way) to their talent, dedication and charm.the young performers speak for thselves with their fantastic instrumental ability and vocal. alents . But I want to single out the maestro himself Joan Chamorro. What he has accomplished is staggering. He has molded so many youngsters into wonderful soloists and team players that it confounds imagination. Any parent knows that dealing with young people can be a bit of a task but he does it marvelously. In con clusion. I firmly feel Joan deserves international praise for his work with youth and contribution to music. Is their a Nobei or Pulitzer type award for this type of contribution to civilization? Does anyone agree with me?

Wow!!! Great all around. I'm struck by: Alba's solo is very tasty and in the mood, Carla's guitar is wonderful with her harp-like licks, the band is in the groove with the full chords being totally focused for balance, great dynamics throughout, Dominique's piano-very tasty. Alba E's bari provides the "specific gravity" for the whole band. Great laid back style--beautifully interpreted by all. Sound and video---marvelous work laying this down. What a beautiful legacy for future listeners. Mr. Hefty would be impressed. Thank you.

I just watched a college jazz ensemble do this number. Here, this collection of about half college-age players and the other half in the junior high to high school range just cuts them off at the knees: the tightness and fluidity creating the overall sound; the trumpet player, who doesn't even bother to take a bow for her solo. Such comparisons just increase the appreciation for what Joan has wrought. There are different versions of lyrics. Go with "Don't Dream of Anybody but Me" by Bobby Darin.

I’ve been buying from the Apple Music store. The albums are usually mentioned in the show notes. There are different series some of them feature your favorite musician, others are compilations. Or you can buy single tracks such as this piece featured here on the album Jazzing 11. Because of covid all artists are facing great financial challenges. They need our support now more than ever.
