If you train 3-4 hours a day, with proper exercises, it's really do-able. And a kid has more time for that kind of stuff, because... well not as many responsabilites.

@@tobieeck9676 mmmm, Im not too sure If i agree with you on that fully, sure if anyone practiced 3-4 hours daily then yeah, this is definitely do-able but that's the thing... people can't practice 3-4 hours daily. I am a professional musician and I know how extremely hard it is to do that. My teacher is a soloist and performs around the world and even she only practices 3-4 hours a day MAX. 3-4 hours of focused practice makes you feel like you practiced 12 hours. Yes kids have more time but they are also kids, they don't have the attention span to practice even 30 mins, trust me when I say this, this kid is amazing and different from the other 99% of the kids. She has a bright future ahead of her! Not to mention this is a live concert! To be able to play this well at a live concert this young.... that's a whole different story. Any professional musician would agree with me here (:

The little girl did marvelous and with an astounding jazz-feeling and I really don't understand the denigratory remark of Luke H. Juan Chamorro indeed worked wonders with those boys en girls and in doing so left a positive mark on their whole lives. Music is the most wonderful thing that can happen to us...

Wow.. that was awesome. Those young kids can play. If you close your eyes and listen you would never guess it wasn't a weekend band made up of adult musicians. They pretty much played in tune with good dynamics. Good to see big band jazz hopefully won't die in my lifetime (I am 60).

Fuera del hecho de que estos chicos musicalmente hablando son talentosos, aquí se nota el trabajo increíble que ha llevado adelante el maestro Joan Chamorro. Veo mucha disciplina, paciencia y largas horas de ensayo. Sólo así se puede entender que hayan llegado a formar una orquesta de clase mundial que se puede parar en cualquier escenario y tocar con los mejores músicos de jazz. No me queda más que felicitar a Joan y sus pequeños- grandes músicos. y lo más increíble es que a medida que pasan los años se ponen cada vez mejores. He visto muchas orquestas formadas por niños y adolescentes pero nunca una con el profesionalismo que veo en esta. Saludos desde Chile.

Yeah, granted, those kids are (still now: take a look to Alba, Andrea and Carla Motis, Èlia, Rita and the rest) superstars. But the real master mind, the real genius here is Mr. Chamorro. My gratest admiration for this guy. Not only he arranged and directed those incredible shows (a lot; and even rehersal videos are amazing), but he also trained those marvelous, tiny little musicians. Instruments and voices. Wow.

Ya han pasado años ....y sigue siendo uno de mis favoritos ....pero que desparpajo presenta en el escenario Alba .....por un lado da la impresión de que sale con incertidumbre (que sería propio por su edad).....pero cuando suena su instrumento es para quitarse el sombrero y no me da verguenza decir que se me saltan las lagrimas....gracias por este regalazo .....Joan eres un hombre afortunado sin duda.

Mi padre era un gran entusiasta de la música Jazz, acostumbraba a escuchar a Lionel Hampton, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong y también le encantaba escucharos a vosotros, con frecuencia me llamaba para enseñarme como tocabais en los videos de KZbin, yo, que el Jazz no era música muy de mi estilo, aunque si escucho Bossa Nova (música me encanta y la escucho con frecuencia debido a que el me la diese a conocer también tiempo atrás, y que una vez me empezó a gustar el dejo de acostumbrar a escucharla aunque no sin dejar de gustarle algo que me daba muchísima rabia, pues el me la había dado a conocer con mucho entusiasmo enseñándome sus canciones preferidas que realmente no eran muchas, bueno el me ha transmitido que ahora escuche también yo esta música de Jazz con frecuencia, ahora valoro mucho más el merito de estos artistas y este estilo porque es música que me recuerda mucho a el y que me enseñaba con muchísimo entusiasmo y muchísima admiración.

Here I am again, for the umpteen time, watching this moment in time, when a very young ALBA ARMENGOU stepped forward for a wonderful solo, followed by one of the greatest jazz musician of all time JESSE DAVIS, a wonderful trombone solo by DANI TELLEZ and the great supporting piano of JAN DOMENECH with it all held together by MAGALI DATZIRA on bass. Backed by the whole fabulous SANT ANDREU JAZZ BAND under the leadership of one hell of a director, teacher, musician, composer and arranger JOAN CHAMORRO... for me a moment in time that came together for a moment of perfection. This takes me back to my youth (way back in the fifties) but the young band I played in wasn't anywhere near this good. These young players have an amazing teacher. BRAVO to Joan Chamorro, may you live a long and happy life.

Every time I watch and listen to a Joan Chamorro presented piece, it is like finding yet another precious stone at the bottom of a box. So incredible to see these fabulous young people when they were sooooo young! Alba is simply incredible in that solo.

Great to see that there are young musicians who don’t aspire to the crushing banality of recent trends in music. The talented young lady on trumpet is an absolute delight, the band is tight and smooth. All would be at home on any stage where a discerning audience appreciates good music and polished performance. Ce chef d'orchestre est un véritable génie !!!!! Un tel résultat avec des enfants aussi jeunes! Leurs impros, d'une vidéo à l'autre, témoignent déjà d'une maturité extraordinaire. Mille fois bravo Joan, et un million de bravos à ces jeunes musiciens qui ont le swing et le sens du phrasé dans la peau. I only recently began listening to these tracks and it's heartwarming. I was fortunate to have met many of the great band leaders and heavies of the big band era, as well as work with quite a lot of those older cats and in a few ghost bands myself. I have zero doubt that William J. Basie would glow with pride at the respect that this young ensemble are paying to that rich style.
