I was at JoAnn’s yesterday and there were a lot of empty shelves. Still a lot of junk in the back that is on clearance, some of which has been there since before this stuff started.

The Joann I shop at is over an hour away in Baton Rouge. I’ve been three times in about a month. There are boxes of stock in most aisles and lots of empty shelf space, but they are busy and have workers cutting fabric and no long checkout lines. Of course, they could add to their fashion fabrics, but they do have a considerable selection including some 70% off, that I’ve stocked up on to make t-shirts for back to school. I was disappointed to find the store in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, had closed since I would visit it when traveling through there. -p.s. They did have that dang 8 foot skeleton at the door 🥴

It would be nice to have a fabric store and then just have a craft store. Gee, novel idea! I get tired of big box stores who pretend to have everything but never whatI want.

I don’t understand how they don’t understand that they need to set themselves apart from Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. Focus on fabric - GOOD fabric - and sewing. I’m not saying don’t carry craft stuff, but if they focus on good fabric and sewing, they will set themselves apart from the others. I’m no marketing expert, but this seems like common sense to me.

As a person who has kids the kids craft area sucks. Its pretty much just foam stickers,perler beads and Lego.

And the Happy Value fabric is 1 ply toilet paper thin 😅 even for my daughters who are learning to sew i wouldn't buy something that low of quality.
