How I love your fabrics. My favorite? the green print. The challi fabric is really pretty and I can see the dilemma. Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Thanks for sharing,

Luv the "wood look" black and white print..I can totally see this as a shift dress using the print length wise 😊

Lovely fabrics, so jealous 🙂 Just remember if you use the wood look challis on the cross grain to perhaps add some extra to the seam allowance in case you need to let it out. The give on the cross grain is often less and I have had a garment come out too small when doing that.

Thanks, Stephanie. I am enjoying your videos. You are amazing. I love the fabric you are wearing. Is it a dress? I would love to see how you make a garment on your serger.😊

Hi Susan, it’s a top. It’s a light sweater fabric, I just love it!!! ❤❤❤

Wow, what a great deal on those! That sage green print is so pretty. I'm seeing a new church dress from that. That wood print woven sure is neat, I hope you find a pattern that works with it on the cross-grain. Is that a 36" or 45" wide fabric? And why is it so dang hard to find the 60" bolts anymore? 🙃
@FarrellFocus10 ай бұрын
You’re right Kris, it’s not very wide. 😮 so, we’ll see. ❤

All the Joannes are at least 20 minutes from my house. Each one is different. The one with the best sale fabric is an hour from my house. I don’t go often. The blue gray color is called cadet blue. I love that color too. Enjoyed seeing your Hall and I’ll enjoy seeing your garments. ❤🧵🧵🎉

So much fun! You got some great fabrics. My Joann’s has mostly fleece, flannel and some very old fabric. Some I bought several years ago. Many empty shelves. Went to the store for the pattern sale this past weekend and I only wanted one and the drawer was half full or half empty as the pattern I wanted was in the half empty side. What is going on? Your are a lucky girl!!

Love those colours and plain DBP? I've never seen that. I can't wait to go into a JoAnns in a month's time on our trip to Florida 👏🏼, we can't seem to get DBP in the UK so hope they hang onto those fabrics 😂. Thanks for sharing 💙💚

Hello Stephanie, I’m familiar with your local Joann’s. Earlier this month I spent a decent chunk of money there. That Joann has more than at my local Joann especially when it comes to garment sewing fabrics. I make special trips there. Love it! Anyhoo, for your woven fabric I was thinking of the Love Notions Tidal dress. Are you familiar with it? It’s two lengths of dress or a top. You can use a woven for the center panel and a knit for the balance of the dress. I made a top for my daughter and it came out really nice. I can visualize it on you and it looks great! Give it a think. 😊

I saw your black woodgrain print (challis?) And immediately thought of a garment I made a couple of years ago. I bought a print online and when I got it home, I couldn't stop thinking that the design would look better cut on the cross grain. I worried about it ,but then saw an inspiration garment on Instagram and just had to use it on the cross grain. It was a long flowy caftan for warm weather. It worked beautifully! If I can figure out how to send you a photo of it, and a commercial pattern that uses the print the other way, I will

Hi Lorraine, I would love to see it. Are you on Instagram or Facebook? You could send me a pic there. ❤❤❤

I wanted to clarify that the fabric I used is not the same print you found, only that I had success turning a viscose challis to the cross grain for the same reasons you highlighted and it worked very well. My print was shown on McCall's 8286, and I made a self drafted caftan cut on the cross grain. It's funny that I saw the fabric you showed from JoAnn last year sometime and I thought the exact same thing. I deferred to my existing stash. I can't wait to see how you use it. I was thinking palazzo pants in the wood grain. Good thing JoAnn is 80 miles south of me highway 101😊.
