@@Obrien975 Weili has only ripped apart 2 punching bags - she couldn't finish 2 atomweights but everyone thinks she's going to do what she did to Andrade when she fights Joanna. Weili has never encountered anybody on Joanna's level or anybody with an even similar level of experience or skill - I'd say she's the more powerful and aggressive fighter but it's a good fight and people are massively overlooking Joanna despite the fact that the only person to even give her problems in Strawweight was Rose and everybody else has been utterly out-classed.

I disagree if you look at Zhang’s previous opponents, Weili has beaten good 5’7-5’10 strikers. Her first win was against a 5’10 fighter. Zhang is also the best in the division in the clinch and also has amazing ground game.

CGS Sir Weili has not beaten a 6 time world champion in Muay Thai and former 5 time UFC Strawweight MMA champion or anything even remotely close to that level. Zhang does not have a better clinch game than Joanna, and at a distance she has similar tools to Waterson she’s just very powerful and accurate in a brawling scenario which is why she absolutely obliterated Andrade who ran towards her and made no effort to move. Joanna won’t brawl with Weili she will stay at kickboxing distance or fight in the clinch - Weili is more explosive, wrestles better offensively, and has a dangerous submission game, but Joanna has the reach and the length and she’s faster and a much more experienced striker - it’s definitely a good fight.

Her numbers to the head, body and leg were ridiculous. We know Joanna can do that for all 5 rounds. Yes, Weili is an absolute monster. What she did to Jessica was epic and I was happy for her that night. Whether or not she has the cardio to push that same pace against Joanna can only be established in the cage. I think that's the next fight and as a fan ever since JJ came to the UFC, I'll definitely be picking her over Zhang. Will be a war!

juice box Weili does have the power advantage but didn’t manage to KO either of the 2 atomweights she fought, or the sub-par Aguilar. She did manage it with the punching bag of the division however, who made no effort to even attempt to defend herself. Joanna has the length, reach, speed, and technical striking experience advantage - what she’s lacking in power she tends to make up for in volume - I also think Joanna has the best cardio in the division. Weili is a very well rounded opponent, she uses similar unorthodox techniques to Waterson but has more of a brawling and stalking style like Andrade and she’s very crisp - however - if she chooses to just remain at kickboxing distance and have a Muay That fight with Joanna she will get out pointed.
