Probably nobody's going to read this but I have to say it... Three day before my dad passed away, we were on the car, he was taking me to church when this song came along on the radio. He started singing it. He smiled at me and told me everything was going to be okay. I miss him so much. Only God knows when it's our time to leave. 01/10/21 8:15 p.m.

Im listening just now :-) It came to my mind yesterday... I was playing with the words a little to be honest, since it says "would you want to see, if seeing meant that you would have to believe"... Well If you saw, you would know. So knowing means you can not believe anymore, because you know. Some time back I heard in a video, imagine that this truly happens, that you meet God and can ask just one question. The author said pause if you need, and really really think what would you ask, take your time... The more I thought about it, about the question, I came to a conclusion that there really is no one question to ask. And the author made the same point :-)

And yeah, yeah, God is great Yeah, yeah, God is good Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Tryin' to make his way home? If God had a face what would it look like? And would you want to see If seeing meant that you would have to believe In things like heaven and in Jesus and the Saints And all the prophets? And yeah, yeah, God is great Yeah, yeah, God is good Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Tryin' to make his way home? Just tryin' to make his way home Back up to heaven all alone Nobody callin' on the phone 'Cept for the Pope, maybe in Rome And yeah, yeah, God is great Yeah, yeah, God is good Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Tryin' to make his way home? Just tryin' to make his way home Like a holy rolling stone? @@MrNewman7336 Egypt was majority muslin only around the year 1000. And they wanted nothing to do with helping the crusaders bc europeens saw then as heretics and during bysantium rules did the same as Rome to the early christians.That facilitated the conquest bc their tolerance\indifference to difference of faith of christianity( and not just in Egypt) help their acceptance by larger populations of non muslin.The worms were already inthe apples! And no i am not a muslin just a fan of history( and a agnostic by self-education.

Hearing this song for the first time, on the radio, was like a religious experience for me. I had just landed in Medford, Oregon, and was driving my rental car from the airport towards my hotel. I channel-surfed the radio for a few minutes until I found a likable radio station... within a few minutes, this song came on. I was choked up, tears in my eyes.... this song resonated in my spirit like an epiphany.... I forgot about going to the hotel and drove instead to the nearest record store I could find, and bought Joan's album on cassette. I still listen to the song regularly, 30 years later, and it still gives me goosebumps.

God is existent to those who already live on the sunside of life. As long as you do so, you won't doubt God. But the wise will and they do. And in the hands of the mighty, God [insert name] is a perfect tool that helps keeping people small, scared, self-doubtful and as slaves.

@@hansfalke7711 interesting hypothesis...however look at GDP and religiosity in different countries and compare them (e.g. Jemen and Tschechien) and you will see it is false
@hansfalke7711
@hansfalke7711 2 жыл бұрын
@@hansolafsen77 Yes, it depends on the country how weakly or how strongly religiosity is pronounced. No doubt about that! Gods do not define, if a child will become religious or not. The place and the culture a child is born into do. There are no religious children, there are just children of religious parents. Successful indoctrination, handed from the old to the young. That is how people keep their gods going.
