Great footage and editing as always, thank you! Fonseca is gonna be big if he doesn't get injured, he seems to move well for a big guy and that serve and forehand? Well... gigantic!!!

Vivi para ver, depois de Guga, mais um tenista brasileiro determinado, confiante, com todos os golpes. Sucesso, João!

Was that Claydal just watching, he knows both of them are already better hard court players than him now!

No. Will either of these guys win 2 Australian Opens and 4 US Opens? I don’t think so.
@pauljohnson60194 сағат бұрын
@@soleavenger They will probably do better, and let's not forget Medvedev was robbed because of the corrupt umpire at AO22, and choked horribly in 2019, Federer also choked badly in AO2009 finals, these guys won't give baldal such an easy ride!

It was proven that Fonseca and other players like him will never go far in a GS, only in tournaments of this caliber and that's it, they are just one-day sunshine and that's it!

I don’t see these two being at the top of the game. Mental game lacks focus and grit. They make too many dumb mistakes and don’t shine under pressure. They won’t come close to the level of the current big 3.
@userwimbledon4 сағат бұрын
They are 18 and 19. Just initiating his career. Please, be more patient with them 😅.

Next gen champions before 19 : Sinner 18y2m Fonseca 18y4m Alcatraz 18y6m Win a 5th set tiebreak with a winner is the definition of a good job under pression.
@ZeldaPom2 сағат бұрын
@ he lost against spizziri in a tight match US Open qualifier. Spizziri is a up and coming good player but if you are the next GOAT you don’t lose to that level of player in a tight match. He lost that one cause he crumbled under the pressure. Sinner and djokovic don’t lose matches like even when they were juniors.

1. Arthur Fils, 20 - 20th in the ATP ranking, won ATP 500 titles in Hamburg and Japan. 2. Alex Michelsen, 19 - 41st in the ATP ranking. Finalist at the Hall of Fame Open and Winston-Salem Open and third round of the Australian Open. 3. Jakub Menšík, 18 - 48th in the ATP ranking. Quarterfinalist of the Shanghai Masters 1000, defeating top 10 players along the way. 4. Shang Juncheng, 19 - 50th in the ATP ranking. 5. Luca Van Assche, 20 - 60th in the ATP ranking. Next Gen ATP Finals for the second consecutive year, following a semifinal appearance in 2023. 6. Nishesh Basavareddy, 19 - 138th in the ATP ranking. Won two Challenger titles late in the year. 7. João Fonseca, 18 - 145th in the ATP ranking. Won the Lexington Challenger and reached the quarterfinals at the Rio de Janeiro ATP 500 and the Bucharest ATP 250. 8. Learner Tien, 19 - 150th in the ATP ranking. So both of them outplayed the better ranked players of their age to play this final. Current top 10 players when they were 18: Sinner was not in the top 100; Zverev was top 100; Alcaraz turned top 100 a little before he turned 18; Taylor Fritz turned top 100: Medvedev was not top 100; Casper Ruud wasn’t even top 200; Djokovic was 78th; Rubles was top 200; De Minaur was top 200; Dimitrov was top 300.

@ most of the players you mentioned with the exception of the big 3 djokovic, alcaraz and sinner have reached the top of the game. Also, what separates these 3 guys from the rest is their mental game, intelligence, and quality in the big moments. Fonseca is young and hasn’t really proven that much except that he has the physical tools to be a top player. In terms of mental game to reach the highest level of the game, he may never have that IT factor like so many other promising young guns have shown in the past. He could be another dimitrov, gasquet, berdych type of player where he is a very good player but not a contender for GOAT status.

Tien won’t. He’s a good player don’t get me wrong but he’s too small and not powerful enough. Every match he wins will be such a grind that eventually it will take its toll. 50-100 is his peak. Sort of like a Mackenzie McDonald type of player.
@yongli43044 сағат бұрын
A bit over zealous. Break into top 50 first then stay there next year will be an achievement. The power they show here may not matter much in the ATP 500 tournaments.
@deliciano12942 сағат бұрын
@@MarkymooAndCrewAgreed. If he makes top 10 I will be shocked. At this tournament against teenagers yes and challenger but Historically no asian cracks the top 10. Just too small and not physical enough. With the exception of Nishikori. Hoeon Chung won this but where is he now. He's a big boy. Tien utilizes wide serve and move opponents around to open up the court to win points. Joao is just pure power. Punishing forehand and backhand. Huge serve. He will be in the top 50 for sure. Just need to cut down on unforced errors.
