The Mallard family is in a bit of rut. While dad Mack is content to keep his family safe paddling around their New England pond forever, mom Pam is eager to shake things up and show their kids- teen son Dax and duckling daughter Gwen -the whole wide world. After a migrating duck family alights on their pond with thrilling tales of far-flung places, Pam persuades Mack to embark on a family trip, via New York City, to tropical Jamaica.

Fun Fact: Real herons probably do this; a lot of waterfowl that prey on large fish use simple lures to help catch prey including human food and smaller fish, so it's not that much of a stretch to say they'd probably use a small bird. Edit: I'm now scared of herons

actually real herons like Grey Herons will simply eat ducklings even gophers ,mice ,rats ,squirrels ,and many many more not even turtles or small crocodiles are safe Herons will only use stuff as bait that they cant eat themself like bread

Herons are very effective predators, able to eat anything they can swallow. Able to hunt things like small and big fish, frogs, insects, small mammals and small birds ( that includes ducklings)

I once caught a heron with my bare hands just out of curiosity and later released. It aimed for my eye but the blow landed on my eyebrow. I am just lucky it didn't peck my eye out

That is what it is. I do think the herons didn’t want to eat the ducklings but were desperate since they are old and can’t hunt as well as they used to. Now that the catfish is caught well why eat the children.

This scene is amazing (also the part that’s not included where they say their final goodbye). The way they keep you guessing whether the herons are good or bad until the very end, the ambiguity - absolutely love it!

To show how much i love this movie, near by on my family beach house in the middle of the nature, there is an old house of an elderly couple exactly like Erin and Harry (Is like the same personality of them), i'm so friends with them that i showed that scene to them, and they we're shocked how much relatable these characters are for them. I love Migration so much

The ducks, Mack's family when saying the last name "Mallard", anyway, i liked this movie, it seems like something between Ratatouille and Rio, but this is more like creatores of The Secret Life of Pets and Sing by the animals. The herons are not enemies l, the chef who is human is the only enemy who not speak. I wasn't going to eat the little Dax and Gwen, I was excepting a fish as a meal, Mallard not last name, is the name of species of duck in wild "Mallard Duck"

@@user-uv7nu2my2xHerons most definitely WILL eat other birds, such as ducks and young geese if the opportunity presents itself. As well as small mammals like rats, rabbits, water voles, muskrats, young beavers, and weasels. And of course any other animals they can catch and kill: fish, frogs, turtles, venomous snakes, crustaceans, lizards, toads, hatchling alligators/crocodiles, and of course rotting carrion.

If you don't know what is a heron then you should go touch some grass Herons are birds belonging to stork family, they will eat everything from fish and frogs to birds, including ducklings, that's why mack and Pam had to fear
