Norris’s older buddy has one of the greatest lines ever after watching the love interest get off a horse and walk away in riding pants. “I’d like to bite that in the ass, develop lockjaw and get dragged to death.” Still use it to this day.

Lone Wolf McQuade is a great entry in the neo-western genre. Chuck is probably best known for doing goofy B action flicks with Cannon Films, but I always seem to enjoy this movie, and Code of Silence a lot more. (Plus that .44 Magnum he wields really suits him). Also coincidentally, the original script for Code of Silence was meant to be the fourth Dirty Harry movie until it landed in Andrew Davis' lap, who retooled it into its own movie. In my opinion, it's Norris' best film and super underrated. Code of Silence and Lone Wolf McQuade should be talked about more, honestly.
@gojira387
@gojira387 Жыл бұрын
Yup, I agree with that. "Code of Silence" is Norris's Best movie, because as a movie, the script is solid, as is the directing & the casting. "Lone Wolf McQuade" is Norris's best movie, because it's the one where he created his "persona," what every actor who becomes a movie star creates. After this it would continue not just into Walker, but also the "Chuck Norris Facts" internet meme, it all started with McQuade. And while it is no masterpiece, it is a good Action film. It is much better than "The Octagon," which is rather terrible as a film, but has the best showcase of Norris's Martial Arts ability. Personally, I think Norris's best acting was in the film "Hero and The Terror," where he shows a lot more range & vulnerability than anyone gives him credit for, and the film also deserves credit that, despite Norris's aura of invincibility, you really do feel a little nervous for him in the final fight. The movie is very underrated.

I'd love to see you guys cover the TV series, 'Kung Fu', starring David Carradine. It's quite interesting to me as a filmmaker; Carradine really does evince kind of a monk-like aura and it's stylistically interesting too. Plus the way it draws on the Tao Te Ching still gives it philosophical heft decades later. You can also see how it connected a couple things for Quentin Tarantino (plugging eastern philosophy into the western genre, etc.).

One story about the final fight scene, which I believe because it fits with similar incidents, is that at one point, Carradine does manage to land a shot on Norris, making Carradine feel pretty good about his kung fu (keep in mind that his background is actually as a dancer, not a martial artist). Norris responds by promptly putting Carradine into the dirt before he can even realize what happened.

The Norris/Carradine fight doesn't HOLD A CANDLE to the Lee/Norris encounter.... David was just tooting his own horn with that bull$#it!! 😂 Carradine wasn't REALLY even a real "expert martial artist" (let alone a real fighter). He just played around with Tai Chi and $#it like that. Everything he learned, was only learned as part of him making an effort to aid in his "action" movie roles throughout his career, starting with "Kung Fu"... A role that SHOULD'VE went to Bruce (being it was HIS IDEA and everything)! Don't get me wrong... I absolutely love David Carradine,, but he WAS completely fulla $#IT!! 🤣

I'm not sure anyone born after the 90's can survive watching "Lone Wolf McQuade." Chuck Norris endures over the course of the movie: His daughter being injured & witnessing her boyfriend's murder. His mentor being killed. His dog being killed (they would never, ever do this one today). Being beat up & buried alive in his truck. His daughter being kidnapped. And finally, his love interest dying in his arms. Kids today would go into shock witnessing just ONE of these... and then complain about it on the internet. So, to all the Father's out there, make your kids stronger, introduce this film to your kids early, toughen them up. Remember, Chuck Norris beat up the MPAA and made this film PG for their sake. Don't let it be in vain. .....The More You Know.
