I agree with El-Erian that we can’t let U.S. growth slow down. If the U.S. GDP grows at around 3% or more, I believe inflation will anchor between 2.5% and 3%. The shelter component is the major contributor to inflation. If we can foresee a high-growth environment in the U.S. in the near future and with mortgage rates hovering around 7%, the best thing a prospective homebuyer can do is buy a house now and refinance later.

Might be the best scenario if you proclude the inability for the government to maintain treasury intereet costs at 5% or the inability of the rest of the world to maintain a high and rising US dollar, which is one of the drawbacks (and strengths) of being reserve currency. If your dollar remains this strong, which it will in your hypothetical best case scenario, the rest of the world will melt and then the USA will collapse too. And then the US is stuck with it's giant reserve currency debt (which is what always to reserve currencies historically), lower growth, no trust and obviously huge devaluation and lower standards of living, but worse than maybe britain or france was in their suoremacy, because population levels are now peaking and you cant slowly ride iit out.

So the markets are strong in the US because the government has "it's act together" presumably by which he means insane spending to artificially stimulate mostly the very largest companies because thats literally what deficit spending does in the short term......and has been able to get away with it because its the reserve currency at a time where pretty much all other currencies are worse, and thus often dont have the luxuruy of deficits without massive ramifications. And then the woman here straight up says the jobs werent in government as though the last 2 years data doesnt exist.
