I've seen every documentary on Vietnam, watched nearly ever movie and THIS was the most brutal, visceral and accurate description of a firefight with the NVA I've ever heard.....absolutely insane what these guys went through. Outstanding job by you Jocko, on every podcast. Props to Echo too.

Thank you guys for your service, for your inspiration and wisdom but most of all, for your blunt honesty and truths. These principles can be applied to any challenge in life and for every individual, even for an old single Mom like me :) Hope you guys have had a Merry Christmas and wishing you and even better New year!!!

Jocko for me, the echo version of advertising and marketing and you wanting it shorter is entertainment and a value added portion of this podcast that gave me a reason to stay tuned until the very end. If this portion is expedited, for me, it's just a commercial that i'd rather skip over. IMHO and thank you.

Can’t say how much respect I have for Col. Moore for making sure NO man was MIA he understood how devastating it would have been for those families to hear that no one knew what happened to their children, husbands, brothers and friends. God Speed 🇺🇸

You can certainly tell that Echo was heavy on the Jordan Peterson train after his first appearance, you can see the influence in his contributions at the beginning of the supporch section

Excellent Work Gentlemen. Jocko, thank you so much for sharing your strength with all of us. Echo, I know it takes A Lion to be around A Lion. This country, This world, Our spirit needs you both and this podcast! #extremeownership getting my ass kicked daily and all I wanna say is "GOOD". Feels better to say "good" when life has got me down than anything else! I promise that. #Thebuckstopshere. PS Jordan Peterson seems like a very good man. Those jungians are a great breed.

I seen the movie and loved the story told but hearing this second part of book is truly unbelievable. I have the utmost respect for everyone that has served for our country but that being said there are so many shady things done in Vietnam and it begs the question why take the hike to a different LZ this gives me a sick feeling that it was almost a set up to lose troops so that we could get financial support from Congress and start the all out war.

It's the hawaiian again, great show to many commercials though. Stories are a big part of our countries legacy, including Barry Seal. I've often wondered how many times Dick Marcinko shook hands with Barry, just like Barry Dick was a fall guy. Stick together commander or you'll never make it. "Give me Brotherhood or give me death".
Echos segues are getting longer and it seems to agitate Jocko just enough to make it funny.

They're not glorifying the war. It's about the men who were sent there bullshit or not. It's just like when soldiers say it's about the guys on your left and right. Politics are completely left out of a soldiers mentality when they're just trying to survive.
