This was the funniest episode of the Jocko Pod I’ve heard. Well other than when Echo asked whether you have to be in The Navy to be an Admiral 😆

Innocent mistake, his civilian contribution is useful and appreciated. Would also refer you to the second podcast on Army LTC Herbert, discussing this hero's very, very difficult experience with the US Army during his service in Vietnam. JOCKO did an excellent job going through Herbert's book(s) about his extraordinary service in Korea (most decorated US soldier from that conflict) and the reaction the Army had to his war-crimes reporting - and at the end of that second podcast, Jocko was basically speechless and dismayed and maybe a little depressed, just searching for a word to describe what the hell happened to Herbert in the Nam ... and, echo stepped up and reduced the multi-hours podcast to one word - corruption. Echo, THE CIVILIAN, said it and it encapsulated everything that Herbert, and many, many like him experienced. Corruption that infected the institution to the extent that it was no longer capable of performing its mission, and LOST THAT WAR. Kudos to Echo, his contribution is appreciated.

1 hr 22 min. You guys have the incorrect mindset towards paid by the hour mentality. The worker likely ment " well it's your fuck up so I'm not going to get all emotional about YOU taking longer than normal due to YOUR incompetence" pure speculation on my end

It is....Staggering...how many of these things I see/deal with and sometimes even do EVERYDAY! There could be one added to this for a bit of modernization purposes; "take you phone to each co-worker and proudly show them between 1 and 7 memes, and make sure they are working/very focused while doing so." ---- We all carry this burden lol

Going round the Resistance museum near Vannes, they had a book recording all of the sabotage. Almost all were just little things, a wire cut here, a bolt removed there, but there were hundreds of them!

I was laughing when you guys were talking about the kid who said “I get paid by the hour” and made it seem like the kid was ready to kill himself. The times I’ve heard that used most is to disarm the person who it is being told to especially when they feel like they’re causing an inconvenience to the person saying “I get paid by the hour” Granted I’ve met a few people who drag their feet at work and sing “boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I poop on company time”

I turned 30 years old back in Jan ..the 20th to be exaacly true. I watch these pods and shorts and I have recalibrated. I have got off the couch and went back to work with my buddy . I feel solid . No kids work wife but I could of have one if I maybe hung on to one of my GFs in my 20s but I didn't so that's just the path in life . Now I am just working on my self and appreciateing my life more then ever and not faulting my past for today . Thanks Jocko !

This is great I haven't laughed like this in a long time. One thing I gotta ask is with the guy at the rental car company. What else should he have said? I hear people say that all the time in my industry (construction/production) and I will agree that the people who say it aren't close to a promotion but regardless of anything in my opinion I don't think that if their "i get paid by the hour" mindset would change that. Drop your opinion down below because I think anything else would've been inappropriate to say to a "customer" let me hear your thoughts

Fear of success can be reaching your goal and then what do you strive for? The loss of your identity of being that person driven towards a certain goal. Sabotaging yourself to not reach your goal so you can keep climbing/grinding for it. Complacent and comfortable.
