I don’t often comment, I don’t interact with your socials, I don’t attend events, but I take in every bit of content of yours I can, silently. It’s had an incredible impact on my health, my family, my career, my life and the life of everyone around me. There more like me out there. These podcasts, and the both of you, are an invaluable positive influence to all, I’m incredibly thankful.

I’ve been listening to your Jocko podcast every week for at least 2.5 years now. I’m in my late 20s. Single. Female. No military experience whatsoever. But your podcast has transformed the way I think and do life, discipline, work, leadership, etc. So thanks for doing it week in and week out.

Love how you guys cover so many topics. Like Jocko said how his default mode is “war”, it makes a big impact when you’re then both just chatting about something like starting up a podcast. When you come from a traditional, old school mentality household like me and many others, it’s a relief to be reminded that not EVERYTHING has to be super serious and joyless. You’re still as human as everyone else along with the more…..’serious’ life experience you’ve both had

Problem with the "War" mentality Jocko has is he applied it to ACTUAL War and was part of the problem. If people looking for war sign up for the Military and find it, then preach about ":EXTREME OWNERSHIP" but don't own the fact that their VERY EXISTENCE is about War and War is EVIL and usually unnecessary like the Iraq and Afghan and Ukraine Wars, all could be stopped if people like Jocko stopped VOLUNTEERING to fight them.

The default mode is "war" because only those who know war are the ones who truly appreciate the value of peace.✌️ The way these conversations are executed organicly authenticly comando level for bros. #priceless

It's a philosophy. Even without violence and military wars, people naturally have internal conflict. Mind (mental, emotional, psychological), body and spirit are the three main parts of every human and each part fights the person to be acknowledged.

Jocko and Echo, I started watching your podcast about 9 months ago. I did a big transition in behavior, lost 40 lbs from 280 lbs. Got down to about 233-235, and have been hovering for months. Im about to do another cut for a month or so and keep driving towards my goal of 225lbs. You guys motivate me, and are an inspiration. Thanks for doing this podcast. I went from the obese "poor me" mindset to somebody accountable and purposed.

You've got the mentality, you're honing the skills and maintaining discipline. You're going places- whether or not others notice, and I'm sure many are but may not share it- you'll be able to do this for yourself, and consequently for you family. Keep Calm, Carry On.

I found your podcast a few months after we went home for Covid and I was in a bit of a rough spot in life in terms of motivation to work out and do other things. The little clips you all had cut up with various letters and questions people had written in were what I started with and just hearing your responses to those lit a fire under my ass and got me to stop sulking around and get back in the gym and get my diet together. You've been a true inspiration and voice of reason and guidance for many like myself in these crazy times we now live in. I think what you've been doing is incredibly important and I will never forget having the opportunity to listen to the Rose Schindler (RIP) episode which really put life into perspective and told me I have zero excuses for anything and to just get through the rough patches. Some podcasts are entertaining or informative, but yours literally helps change lives and shape people for the better. I just turned 41 and I'm in the best physical shape of my life, diet is the best it has ever been, and outlook on life is incredibly good both socially and professionally due to changes I made after listening to you guys. The "Discipline Equals Freedom" applies to so many areas of life once you start taking control of things and create some structure.

I cant tell you how beneficial the podcast has been to me over the past few years. Discovering Jocko, and his way of life through Joe Rogan, and then Jocko Podcast really helped me grow from a somewhat organised individual, into disciplined adult. I train and compete in Jiu-jitsu, I lift weights, I run, I stay focused with my work and chores, and i take ownership of my mistakes, and take positive action towards fixing issues in my life. Jocko, Jordan Peterson and David Goggins are three of the most motivational and inspirational people in regards to bettering yourself.

Ive been watching your videos for a few years. I started watching as an attempt to help prepare me for a management position at work. Never did i realize how it would help with other things. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at the start of the year and i have been her primary care giver. The only reason i haven't totally mentally collapsed was due to some of your advise. My job is to be prepared, to provide support, and to be there. This is my duty, there is no asking why just doing what needs to be done. Thank you.

This is making me rethink my business. I'm learning from a guy who's been doing it for 30 years. The way he talks about it makes it sound easy, and I think I've been interpreting it as easy as a result. But honestly, it isn't that easy. If I'm honest, it's harder than it looks, and maybe I need to be going in with the mindset that I'm doing something that's going to be hard to do for a while, until I get better and master it. If I always view it as easy, I'm going to always be asking why I'm struggling. If I go in with the mindset that I'm overcoming something difficult, then the struggle makes sense and let's me know I'm on the right path. Embrace the struggle. It's how you know you're where you should be. Thanks Jocko and Echo.

Your podcasts are must see KZbin tv man. I’m non military and love your shtuff. I’m in to MMA & BJJ which is how I found your podcast initially. Your Vietnam stuff was spectacular and gave me insight into my dad and his friends. They were all drafted and had a rough time over there and had to fight the government/VA for treatment for agent orange poisoning in the 80s & 90s (my dad is the only one still alive & that’s bc his cancer was recognized by the VA so they treated it. The rest died in the 80s & 90s). The agent orange fiasco is the main reason why I never got into the military. After 9/11 I planned on quitting college & enlisting but my dad put a quick end to it.

An interesting soldier to read about is Hank Slomanski. He served in parts of three wars: WW2, Korea, and Viet Nam. He earned the Silver Star. He was Sgt Major of the 101st AB, master paratrooper, Army Ranger, and Green Beret. After retiring from the military, he became an ordained minister and served soldiers at military hospitals. He was also a karate master, who earned the title of Commissioner of American Karate. in the 1950s in participated in the 'Lame and Kill' matches in Japan, where he defeated over a 100 Japanese fighters. ... and he awarded Dan Inosanto and Elvis Presley their black belts in Karate. They were the only two civilians awarded black belts, at that time, by Mr. Slomanski. There is some information on the net about Mr. Slomanski, but not a huge amount. I find it interesting his training methods of his students. It was hard core, broken bone, training on hardwood floor or cement/rock surfaces. It is a shame, he is all but forgotten from military history. His story needs to be told.

And Jocko...here's the thing...the beautiful thing about humanity is that there are a vast variety of different personality types. Yes, as human beings we are multi-faceted, but at the same time we each have things and topics and passions we gravitate towards more than others. And we differ from day to day as well. So one day we are in a kick ass and take names mentality, and on another day we may feel a little softer and peaceful. So to sum up my point, for anyone complaining about you and how you carry yourself and what you revolve your life around...fortunately for them there are many other personality-types they can tune in to any day and at any time according to their mood and how they're feeling. I'm guessing that those complaining about you are simply reflecting something in themselves they'd like to change or work on. Sending you an abundance of loving and prosperous energy my friend!

Our challenge to each other has been a continuous adding for various interpretation, comparisons or strategies that create internal content. We still face community content that elicit emotion. The Jocko/Echo Charles commentaries offers the (compass) discussion to interpret our journey within and include our collective interests to continue our lives. TY to Dicipline Equals Freedom as well as other connections in media and print that do provide a good overview from individual as well as members within community that promote bettering experiences within our story.

Jocko! I love you ❤!!! Your podcast is probably like no other out there. I personally sometimes don't even pay attention to fact that your talking about war. Because your teaching of leadership and how to navigate life can go in every filled. I don't agree with war and the way governments in the world deal with things, but I am just an ignorant big brat 🤣. My honest opinion. I mention this because it doesn't matter if people don't want to hear about war, your advice is so wise and practical that anyone that has what ever opinion listen to you and still learn from your podcast. I don't listen to many peoples advice because many things don't make sence to me. You are one of the small percentage I do, because what you say, makes sense to me. Listening to you helps me get grounded. Thank you! ❤🌌 P.S. I think if you ever write a parenting book would come out exellent.....

I'd say 2 of the heaviest influences as to whether or not I'm going to watch a podcast are 1) Whose channel is it? If I'm already a subscriber then chances are I'll give it a shot. 2) If I'm not a subscriber, is it a topic I'm otherwise interested in? That's probably been the main way I've become a subscriber is by searching for a video on a random topic, finding one, and then paying attention to whatever else the creator posts.

Keep up the good work and whatever you decide to do once you realign your priorities should be well received. 👍

Sometimes you do what ya gotta do- your work becomes your goal- rather than what the “goal gurus” tell you- dreamers “leave their dreams” - but accomplish very little in life

Wow! Except for Musashi, never in the History of Mankind have we been able to learn from a great man like you Jocko! Humanity is so much better off because of you! Write your "Art of War." or "Book of five rings." Write your masterpiece that will be read for millions of years.

I’m thinking you have a life to get after, but hell yeah I want as much from Jocko I can get. Whatever that balance is, I respect it. But we all want a new Jocko podcast everyday, but you’ve got important stuff to do. But please, we “Men” as I’m a man, need your input to look forward to. Helps the sane stay sane. So keeping it up is insanely awesome!!
