Actress Jodie Sweetin is here to talk about her journey going from Bob’s TV daughter to a real-life mother of two children. Bob and Jodie recall their fondest memories on the set of Full House, reveal the prop pieces they stole, and talk about what it was like to have the cast reunited on Fuller House. Jodie also talks about her podcast, “Never Thought I’d Say This”, and how she got her start as a child actress.

About the Podcast:
BOB SAGET’S HERE FOR YOU is a podcast that is like no other- Because it goes inside Bob’s Saget’s mind, and then quickly filters out through his mouth. Bob has a way of calming people with genuine empathy and humor while they’re going through a difficult time, which we all are at present. Reaching his unusually diverse audience that he talks to as a friend, Bob is the dad with great advice, the irreverent funny guy who’s always there when you need a laugh, and the free-associative Bob who goes off on crazy tangents then returns to the subject at hand, as serious or as comedic as it may be, to wrap up each episode in a way only Bob can do. Because he really does believe, “He’s here for you."

I binged Full House during the pandemic and what struck me was how Jodie was a complete natural on screen. She was so incredibly talented and funny at such a young age. I don’t know how she managed to memorize so much dialogue and nail the timing for jokes during the first few seasons as the youngest cast member. She’s highly intelligent and extremely well spoken.

Seriously! He passed so young. However, if you read his book, lots of his family members passed young and he did not expect to make it past his fifties! So it’s really sad that we lost him so soon, but also he made it 6 years out of his 50s! 60-65, he surpassed his own expectations of himself. I will be happy for that at least.

While it sucks to die far too you, and as someone who lost my husband was he was only 45, I know how bad it sucks for the family, at least someone as kind as he was had a peaceful ending, as he deserved. His sister had such a painful, suffering death, which he seemed to fear. They said he passed with no suffering while asleep. How he was found, with positioning, he drifted off while asleep and never knew thankfully. That's what we wish for all we love.

True story… when I was a little kid I was really sassy and incredibly stubborn. I’m the middle child and was born with a chronic health condition that kept me in the hospital a lot so it was kind of inevitable. Lol! All the typical punishments never worked on me until one day I did something naughty and my mom said, “If you keep doing that I’m not going to let you watch Full House tonight!” That stopped me dead in my tracks. Bob Saget was the bargaining chip that kept my five year old butt in check, because there was no way I was going to miss that show. Bob, thank you for making millions of strangers lives just a little bit brighter. Thank you for your kindness, nuggets of wisdom, and the constant laughs that gave so many of us a break in our reality for that 30 minutes every week. You left your mark on this world, and you will never be forgotten. To his family and friends, I’ll pray for you all to get through this incredibly painful time. I have no doubt that you’ll all see each other again someday. Until then, he’ll be trying out his new material on the angels, perfecting his new set until you all see each other again. God Bless.

Bob Saget is like my TV dad. MK & Ashley & I are the same age so I along with every other Millennial grew up on Full House. My real dad was a deadbeat so in a lot of ways, Bob Saget/Danny Tanner raised me. I really wish I could meet Bob.

This is nice and wholesome. All the while at times addressing dark and troubling subjects. It's really cool to see how close you two are. Like many, I grew up watching Full House.. so yeah, this is cool. Good stuff.

It's so sweet and endearing how she can talk so openly about her bad days, and doesn't play the typical Hollywood script :"I had a bad youth. My mom or dad were abusive. The stress of the industry got to me." She's honest in saying that, unfortunately, it happens to a lot of people. And sure, I understand that when people have a wrong image of you that it plagues you. I don't like that my very low-key involvement in the entertainment industry pops up in for example my IT freelance job. It must even more awkward for stars. But you just deal with it, that's not the reason (child) stars get to drugs. How would you otherwise explain the 100.000s of other people having this problem. It must be harder, like Jodi says, because their life is under a magnifying glass. But it would server the media vultures, to ignore those stories and understand that this is their private live problem, that is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.

This was such a wonderful and inspiring interview. I have so much respect for Jody for giving us her role perspective as to her life story and how she overcame her challenges. That’s not easy to do. Her story just like Andrea barbers and so many others are so important because it allows us to see them as the true person and not just the characters they portray. It also gives others permission to be themselves and not feel ashamed when they make mistakes. So thank you!

Huge fan of both of you. I’ve actually met you and Dave at a comedy show at freedom hill 20 years ago. I still to this day watch the show ever day full house was my jam. If you ever have big fans on your show as a guest that would make a dream come true for me. Keep doing what you do.

This is soo sweet of a podcast to have for her. Ugh so many moments I was like awwwwwwww if they only knew then. I am so glad she said that their parting the second time was not sad. She knew he would always be apart of her. And I think he will always be in her heart.

6:59 He was giving signals of that fact, he felt like he had actually given everything he had, he felt like there was nothing left inside of him... a lot of people over the age of 60 or 50 over the world feel the same... RIP dear Uncle Bob :-(( (

Bob, your verison of Danny Tanner helped me through high school i became a fan when full house came on Netflix with Fuller house. i watched both shows and i always felt like i was a mixed between Stephanie and Kimmy i was the weird kid in school but also i wanted to hang out with the school kids like Stephanie did in the episode called Stephanie's wild ride and i wanted to fit in like Kimmy wanted in her teen years. . Thank you for the best sitcom ever!! i learnt so many life lessons from Full house and Fuller house and im only in my 20s.

Jodie, You are a kick-ass role model!!! I have been working in recovery for over 12 years - family history, on both sides, is wrought with SUDs and other mental health issues. Your story is so relatable, and your authenticity, so apparent. Thank you for inspiring my clients!

This podcast episode is a testament to how kind and caring Bob is/was..I never watched Full House but remain fascinated by the friendships that endured thru & after it's run. Bob passed away a couple weeks ago and it was so sudden and sad. Hard to find kind people in such a terrible business. Such a loss. Condolences to his wife, family, friends and fans. #RIPBob
