The key to using any pool inflatable is to accept that there is no dignified way to mount, dismount, or maintain your balance. It's just whatever gets results. Personally I usually jump in the water first to get the initial dunking out of the way.

Key is really such a great dog to take on vacation ,so calm and enjoying his time away ! Beautiful scenery and a wonderful place that let's dogs in also !not many pet friendly vacation and rentals or hotels ,motels are pet friendly here in America!!!

Jodi, NOW YOU KNOW WHY IT IS MUCH EASIER TO GET ONTO FLOATS WHEN YOU ARE ON THE LADDER! You hold the Flamingo by the neck and place one leg at a time. The second thing you need is paddles like the plastic oars that are sold with kids boats( but big enough to actually move your float at least 18 inches or longer).

You probably would have had more fun if that pool wasn't so small. Those things work best in round spacious pools, not a square one with no room for it to really go anywhere

Don't feel bad about floating, I sink also, I'm unable to swim except underwater because of this. I have had swimming coaches when I was younger but i just don't float properly so I cant swim properly. That said I love the water and have spent time on the ocean, the great lakes where I live in the State of Michigan, USA and many inland lakes and rivers. It really hasn't stopped me enjoying the water.
