My friends often say to me" oh it must be so peaceful there so far back in the bush, until they spend a night at my place....The coyotes, barred owls, eagles cackling at night, the peeper frogs ,forest frogs, and 3 other types of frogs lol...oh and the loons, who seem to be up all night, not to mention the racoons and the odd bear rummaging around.....but I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!! Thanks for the video....

This is likely true! I will be comfy at 90 degrees. I can't say the same for Cory and Ethan!

You gave me a scare with your stove pipe (outside), but after the explanation I feel better. Thanks for sharing. I'm a new subscriber. Take Care.

I laughed so hard the bottom of one rocker looks like it has a hole on the seat. You set it down and I'm like wait, wrong room! That would be a creative twist.

My son helped me build an off grid cabin last year. I hear you say you are installing a COUNTER TOP? .... If I had it to do over I would built the cabinets too, especially around the Botton ( so all kitchen stuff is out of sight ( small space gets cluttered easily ) Its LOOKING GREAT guys !! Im loving the windows!

Oh Jodi, it's absolutely lovely. I love that you brought the rocking chairs. I'm so happy for you.😊❤❤❤ I'll cry for you, seeing all the beautiful trees and the carpet of leaves is very moving. It brings peace to a restless heart.

Totally thought I saw you and your husband at Castle Danger this afternoon. Ooops I was wrong but I still asked the two people there if they had a KZbin channel. Love your videos! We are up st Banning RV park for one last weekend trip before the snow flies.

With no vapor barrier under the roofing your insulation will get sopping wet and rot. Rock wool insulation and Baffle system works great for cold climates
@jodimiddendorf Жыл бұрын
We will adjust before putting tongue and groove over the insulation. We didn’t want exposed fiberglass in the cabin when we are using it and done know when we will have tongue and groove. Question though, do you think with the foam insulation R-boards on the walls, we would be better off with open faced insulation in the walls or with faced? We aren’t sure best route there.

Your rockers are very nice I have one at my cabin it is nice to seat buy the fire in it and rock

been following from the beginning love your journey . but you need to get a 90degree elbow and some rise on the chimney or bad things will happen. keep the videos coming
@jodimiddendorf2 жыл бұрын
We were considering 45 or 90 degree. We did some research and decided with 45, however I’m sure there are pros and cons to both. We’ve had people comment to do 45 and others say 90. What is your experience with pros of 90 degree?

On the outside I think he means Jodi. I'm sure they'll do a double wall stainless 90 out there.

Jodi you seem a lot less capable in the outdoors and sharing as you talk on your videos. Why aren’t you getting up during night to help stolk fire. Your entitlement would get old if I were Cory. His kids pitched in more ; than you in these videos. Sorry, but just from what I’ve seen on Your videos.
@jodimiddendorf2 жыл бұрын
Rude. You aren’t there with us. I do a vast majority of the filming, therefore I’m often holding the camera and capturing what others are doing between helping out. When I’m helping out and doing the work I’m less likely to grab the camera and film because I don’t always think about it and it’s impractical. You see 20 mins of a weekend in these videos. I make these videos for fun and enjoyment, not for you to look into it as a picture of our life to judge. Please be kinder to other people in your life. You do not know what people are doing and thinking behind the scenes. I actually start fires- stoke fires- and feed fires nearly everyday. I am commenting this at 5:30am at our home after getting up to restart our fire as we have a wood stove at home as well. I usually sleep like a rock, Cory doesn’t. So on this night, it was cold and that woke him up.

@@jodimiddendorf Don’t let her get to you. People that like to judge other people’s relationships are usually the ones having difficulties in their own relationship. Thanks for sharing snippets of your life for our enjoyment. You live in a beautiful part of the world. Greetings from Australia.

hi guy's the cabin is getting there. it all takes time. supply chain issues are all over the world and we all have to bear with it. thanx for the video.in a past video I asked if you were ever contemplating switching to solar panel energy instead of batteries?
@jodimiddendorf2 жыл бұрын
Hello, welcome back. We are contemplating solar and hope to have solar in the future. We are thinking we will need to dig a trench and bury the power cord to get our solar panels out into sunlight. We have lots of tree coverage blocking the Sun near our cabin. We are putting thought into it and doing research, so solar will not happen before winter. I apologize, I don’t see or respond to all comments, but I try to respond to them when I can :)
