“I wrote this album last year during the most hectic period of my life so far. Playing incredible parties in faraway destinations pretty much every weekend, coming straight home to be a full-on family man, and looking after my dying dad. I suppose the creative process of making this record was a form of meditation; trying to find a peaceful headspace amidst such contrasting lifestyles and emotions. I wanted to sonically portray a wide spectrum of feelings, from the buzz of a rocking party to the comfort of domestic bliss and the sadness of losing a loved one. I can hear your pain just coming through ever so slightly and it's what brings my soul back to life, ironically. I'm assuming that's your Dad speaking at the beginning of the album and it's beautiful that his words will always be able to be heard and replayed for others to hear for years to come. This guys is so talented it's insane. No wonder I've always loved Way Out West with this guy as 1/2 the creator of their epic madness. The first song on this album tugs on your heart and brings back all the feelings you've been holding back while the rest of the album just sets you free. I feel like I've been taken on a journey.
