They need to educate themselves on learning to love, respect themselves, learn to improve on their communication skills, learn the method of mathematics and science. Music is not important. A country can only be prosperous with the younger generation making a great contribution in society. Jamaica needs more civil engineers, medical doctors, and teachers.

While I agree that today's generation seem to be lacking in love for each other and we can certainly use more achievement in the "respected" professions, It is the music that actually put Jamaica "on the map" alongside athletics etc. Different topics all have their place in society and in Education. It only depends on what aspects of music we will see as Education. It does not have to be formal but youths do need to have an understanding of the history of our music and the profound impact it has had on the world. MUSIC is timeless. It really doesn't have to be only dancehall. Remember as well that music is 1 of the main reasons tourists visit Jamaica.
