That's a pretty bold statement by Joe ! I might just have to agree as well . I saw Joe in Bloodline & Eric in 1994 with his brother Eugene . Both of them were just starting out . Major praise for both of them . Check my new front row footage of Eric .

These 2 are The Best Guitarists in The Modern Era, Second to None, they should grab Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Do a G3 type Blues Tour B3 and be very unkind to their Guitars 🤣😂😅😎😎😎 and take a bunch of their chosen songs and make audiences see something never seen before , would be just Stunning and the people will arrive in their thousands 😎

@Dominique Johnson While I personally think John Mayer is a fantastic guitar player and an even better songwriter.....truth be told these two guys would tear him a new asshole. Not to be condescending but if you dont think so well then you know nothing about playing guitar or have no ear. 🤷♂️

I just wonder why Gales writing has never been jaw dropping, because he really is that good at jamming and moving through incredible ideas. He is probably the best at it. He blows my mind but I haven't dug his albums. I will definitely see him live if he comes around my area though

He needed a good producer for his albums, like Joe! 😉

@@KrlosRodz because we all have our strengths and weaknesses. Without Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page would have been nothing. We can't be the best at everything.

For me his extraordinary guitar skills is jaw dropping for me. He is able to hold me through all his shows/albums and I don’t feel distracted . I have exhausted all his content and still want more. His playing though repetitive, still holds a listener’s emotion intact and that’s something magical.

I fine it interesting that Eric Gales didn't mention Hendrix among the list of guitar players that his brother turned him on to. Hendrix not only played the Fender Stratocaster upside down like Gales...Hendrix is considered to be one of the great guitar innovators of all times. In 2006 Eric Gales played with Buddy Miles and Billy Cox (The original members of Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys). Eric Gales has covered some of Hendrix songs in his live shows...so how do you forget to mention Hendrix?
@sethtanner57072 жыл бұрын
He's probably so tired of the early comparisons. He's distancing himself. :(
@stanlyn32542 жыл бұрын
@@sethtanner5707In my opinion, playing the Stratocaster upside down is the only comparison...and Eric Gales plays amazingly. However, Hendrix was such an electrifying charismatic showman with the guitar, quiet/cool persona, style, creative songwriting (Hits) and badass stage outfits (51 years ago) continues to project an ageless Hendrix into the future. When ever someone frets the neck of the guitar with their right hand...visions of Jimi Hendrix will be remembered. Don't be tired...be energized!

Not necessary….Hendrix passed it on to SRV, SRV passed it on to Eric and watch out for up and coming Kingfish Ingram….

Eric plays upside down, Hendrix played left handed. Very different and a big part of EG's unique sound.

I cannot figure out why Eric's "new" release with Joe producing it has not been released. They were supposedly through with it end of last year ............ many thanks Cathy, do you have any info on why it's not out yet ? I am on Joe's Forum regularly, have not seen anything, we are all in the dark

Eric forgot to mention his main influence, Jimi Hendrix.
@cesaralexander45393 жыл бұрын
No, his main influence is more likely Eric Johnson. In many interviews, Eric Gales has said that Jimi was important to the evolution to guitar, but Eric is more influenced by players who were inspired by Jimi.

The way Eric keeps flapping his lips and tongue...is a common behavior of someone who is on meth. I'm not saying he is a drug user...only that behavior is common what meth users do.

He did some time for drug related stuff. So yes he did drugs for a while. Not sure if he’s currently using.
