This song was my favorite one. It was such a hit in 1970, my senior year. Us Tejanos were always singing it at school. Love this song.

I played for Joe for a few years, fun times with Richard Solis, Jimmy Edwards. He truly was a "Vato Loco". I remember, I lived it. RIP my brother.

Joe Bravo was my idol! I became a Tejano Singer because of him. I used to love the way Joe Bravo sang (El Playboy) y (La Patita de Conejo) in the seventies! Yo lo arremedaba at one time just to try to sound like him, but there will only be (One Joe Bravo) ! I used to go to all his dances at (The Stardust-Houston, Texas). I have every 45” , L.P. Album and Cassette that he ever recorded! He will always be my idol! Se los dice un Tejano Singer/ George Cavazos and The Vista Band / South Houston ,Texas!

The year 1977..Uvalde civic center..2 great song writer “Carlos Cardenas”and PePe Sanchez..wrote a lot of songs to bring Joe Bravo back and they did. R.I.P…Concha Vasquez uvaldes promoter would ask me off and on who do you think I should bring and in one of those cases I said Bring “JB” he’s hot again he’ll fill up the place and she did. And it was like magic he packed the place. Great singer and was honored to host with him as I had just turned 16 yrs old and moved from Fort Worth TeXas to Uvalde TeXas. Which my original hometown was Mathis TeXas where David Marez came from too long of a story. With that song and other songs like “Damelo” by Pepe Sanchez brought him back and remaind who he is to this date. joe..it is I Art Magaña where I moved on to the Dallas/Ft. Worth TeXas area and worked at various stations and landed with Dallas/Ft. Worth 99.1 K.I.C.K-Fm where I started an oldies show band brought all the pioneers in the Tejano Music business and no one was playing their music until I started an “Oldies Show” in 1993/94 and went from Al Chavarria to Jessy Sertata to the old Selena to the old MazZ to the old pio Trevino..Cali Carranza..old Selena…old Gary Hobbs..Gary Guarjardo and Pleasure band..Chachos con Chachos Jimenez..Hugo Guerrero..little Joe..sunny Ozuna..Ruben Ramos and so on..if I’m right and you see this I spoke to you Joe by phone where you were in Ft Worth and I knew your voice and you asked me I’m on limited time can you play some Joe Bravo and me knowing where I had here where you were at I played a JOE BRAVO mix for like 20 minutes non stop..me.. knowing where you were at..so to all that listen to some of his HITS during those time were from song writers like Carlos Cardenas and Pepe Sanchez who brought JOE back up to his status and I’m just glad that when I started my oldies Tejano show at K.I.C.K-FM 99.1 Dallas Ft. Worth TeXas it caught on like fire on all the rest of the stations to this day you’ll hear an oldies played somewhere..you’ve payed your dues my Friend and enjoy your life from a star like you that you need me as a DJ to myself being no one without the people who would listen and I didn’t my beast to bring you back from your “Skid Row Joe” album to “I’m Back” vinyl!..your Amigo that’s in the shadows of Tejano Music..Art Magaña..long live TeXas long live Tejano..it’ll never die!! Hope all enjoyed a moment from a DJ that lives in Mathis TeXas to become a great DJ and supported from the new Tejano to the oldies on KICK-FM Dallas/Ft. Worth 99.1 …..be blessed Joe Bravo..
