I love the uke and, the funny thing is, I usually like people who play the uke. There is often something "cheeky northerner" about them that makes them likeable. George Formby was the first and the best, of course. Me and my girlfriend (now wife) were listening to When I'm Cleaning Windows the first time we made love.

"Joseph Roger "Joe" Brown, MBE is an English entertainer. He has worked as a rock and roll singer and guitarist for more than five decades. Sure -- he mentions it at the end of that example: it's Has Anybody Seen My Gal... written in 1914, it was VERY popular in the 1920s and really captures the feeling we identify with that timeframe

I play some guitar...badly, but I'd love to give the ukelele a try. It must be easier than a guitar as it has only 4 strings. I'm a big fan of Joe. He's unpretentious and one very talented guitarist. He once backed Johnny Cash and Joe played a couple of twangy fancy chords and Johnny fired him for it! He gave Joe his job back but it put me off Johnny Cash for being so petty and mean. He was more than likely jealous of Joe's guitar playing. Plays a mean 12 string guitar too I have heard. He's never been involved in any scandal so I agree that yeah, he should be knighted. It would make a great change from bloody civil servants getting a 'Sir' in front of their name for writing to the queen telling her how great she is. Sir Joe Brown.....it rolls off the tongue better than anyone else's name does. Arise Sir Joe!
@zombeatle017 жыл бұрын
