I am a 56-year-old woman and this hit me harder than my father's death, and I loved my father. This is because my father lived his life to the fullest l am not a Hip-Hop, fan perse or should I say I don’t like the artistry it portrays or the foul language. With all that said I adored Takeoff because of his disposition and mannerisms. He was such a humble young man. My condolences to the entire family. I can't imagine his mother's pain. Unfortunately, they TRUSTED these guys at their word that they would be okay. It's depressing, frustrating and sickening that we are ALWAYS the first people to kill our own. I really loved Migos from jump. I just hope that he is resting in peace and knows how much he was loved. To say that we have to stop this killing, and violence amongst each other isn't enough. Right now, we have people that were at a PRIVATE party not coming forward for a man who EVERYONE says was quiet, minded his business and went to church, not coming forward to get justice for him and his family. I am sure that Quavo will forever live with guilt and grief over losing his nephew; especially because he was arguing before the shooting started. I don't think he will ever need a reminder or fingers pointed at him. I imagine Offset is sick over the way they all parted because now there is no resolution to have and for not being there the one time that it really mattered. It is crazy that someone Ik was at their NY party the other week and commented how nice he was. smh. Everyone can speculate, but no one can change this, as fked up as it can be. We can all learn though and try to be better.

Never heard a Migos song prior to Takeoff's passing. I'm from the Run DMC era. The comparison between the Migos and Run DMC is spot on. The pain and shock I felt when Jay was EXECUTED is the same reaction I see with my millennial family members. I remember making fun of the Migos' flowered shirts comparing their look to Hippies and joking around with my cousins that those dudes weren't an authentic hip hop group. Little did I know they'd be a force to be reckoned with in the rap culture. After finally watching a few of their videos my heart aches more. We were robbed of pure talent.
