Silence is key. If there is ever a problem your OGs will manage you and the situation. Joe was saying X is not a gangster, has no OGs (telling him when to shut the fuck up and let it go etc.), and runs his mouth on Social Media about everything from Street Shit to threats etc. AK was enabling him by promoting the shit out of every dumb beef X made for himself. Joe was trying to warn AK to stay away from X because his actions had repercussions and Joe was having to stick his neck out and vouch for AK to the OGs. Joe was trying to say - without coming out and say it thereby violating street code - that X was going to get shot and if AK didn't stop promoting X's beefs he was going to get shot as well. AK's defense was "Im just media", but he doesn't understand that in the street he is an enabler, his position is irrelevant. Moral of the Story? The reason people in my community tend to look up to to O.Gs is because it gives this feeling of awe that someone that is from the hood like you can gain such a level of respect. It is more of a sense of living vicariously through another individual. Another person from my community that has not grown up in a hood might not understand the respect given to O.Gs as they cannot really relate the sense of respect and desire for success that one wants when they live in an impoverished environment. It is one of those paradoxes of the human mind that when you grew up and leave the hood, you realise the dangerous mentality you had when you are younger.
