His two female backup singers were stuck in traffic and didn't make the show so the band members tried their best to sing the backup vocals.

After his Woodstock show, John Lennon and Paul McCartney talked with Joe during a visit to Abbey road (EMI) studios. The pleaded with him to cover more of their songs, the way he does it. He obliged by recording, "She came in through the bathroom window" next.

The Beatles wrote this song but after hearing Joe do his version Paul McCartney said it’s his song now.

Joe Cocker was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice & dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. He recorded a few Beatles' songs "With A Little Help From My Friends", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" & "Something". Other hit songs were "You Are So Beautiful", "Up Where We Belong" (a duet with Jennifer Warnes), "Delta Lady", "Darling Be Home Soon", "Cry Me A River", "Feelin' Alright", "The Letter" etc.

Joe Cocker only had one car in his entire life, a 1995 Jaguar XJ-12. He learned how to drive in this car. And when he died my parents bought it from his estate. Several of his personal things were still in there, such as his eyeglasses.

Joe was a hard core alcoholic and some times the girls would help him stand up. He is a real ICON of JAZZ and in my opinion he lived tobacco road. LOVE U FOREVER JOE ! Keith

Probably, the only one of The Beatles 230 Songs that sounded better than the original as Paul McCartney acknowledged.

Half a million people at that concert... That performance was just tuesday for Joe Cocker... That's how he approached every performance... He left it all on the stage every time...

I remember hearing this in middle school as a kid in Romania, I didn't understand a word but I was left in tears... yet smiling. It's been about 3 decades, I've learned English since and... nothing changed 🥲❤ RIP 🖤

Joe really was at his best live. His Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour absolutely rocked.

Because it was Woodstock, Joe put every ounce of himself into this performance. It is the BEST version of this song by him or anyone ever. Complaining about the guitar players singing backup is ridiculous. It's now part of the performance and history. The studio version is fine but it's in a studio, this is Woodstock.

Joe was the real deal. The music moved him and he moved us. I miss this kind of passion in music. It’s really hard to find these days.

Joe looks like he is having a seizure when he sings but damn he can sing. He sings You Are So Beautiful like he really means it.
