Joe Davis will one day be one of the greatest sports broadcasters to ever call baseball...mark my words. His voice has always been iconic and his sense of humor in the booth is perfectly suited for his role. Every time I watch a home dodger game, it's comforting knowing hes calling the games with Orel. Keep doing what you're doing Joe, we love you in LA man!

I hadn’t realized how deeply I missed Vin’s presence until that voicemail played, and I found myself choked up as tears filled my eyes. Vin Scully is truly one of a kind, an irreplaceable legend. While no one will ever be quite like him, Joe Davis has more than proven himself, surpassing all expectations. In his relatively brief career Joe has already delivered some remarkable and unforgettable calls. Thank you for honoring Vin’s legacy while making your own unique mark on the game.

Vin was the broadcaster in the booth when I went to my first MLB game in 1965. Koufax was on the mound, Dodger Stadium, I couldn’t have had a better start. Later on, I flew to LA in 2016 and 2017 for the Scully ceremonies, a pilgrimage, to see Vin and Sandy again. I listened to Vin with the MLB app, catching every home Dodger game I could from home. To hear Vin in the 2010s, still alert and on top of his game and profession, be able to tell us first hand stories of Jackie Robinson, the classic Dodgers teams on the 50’s, and more, is something you can’t do again. It was special. Good luck to Joe as he creates his own history.

I was a diehard Yankee fan until 1962 when Vin Scully converted me into a Dodger fan. He was a one-of-a-kind. Encyclopedic knowledge of the game combined with endless, mesmerizing stories. However, when they played the Dodgers, I always made a point to listen to Scully’s account of the games.

Okay, replacing Vin is an impossible task. We all agree on that. The problem with Davis is he's so young he doesn't know much about MLB history and vintage players names. Every story he tells about the past is totally scripted and obviously fake. He's okay for regular season TV broadcast but he was painful and boring in the World Series. (Him and Smoltz were terrible.) All you have to do is watch other teams broadcast and announcers to realize he's not even close to most. I guess he seems to get a pass because its the Dodgers, but sometimes it seems like he's announcing a chess match.
