Yeah I was about in 8 grade when Joe had the song on the radio. I listen to the radio until they play the song then I can record it on to my surround sound cassette player. I remember my school friends used to laugh at me because I listen to country. But I didn't care I listen to what I like. Today I'm all grown up now 47 years old and those childhood friends I had are all forgotten now. But Joe music is still around and I still listen to it but I have it Now on CD And 45 records from my jukebox. James From the Great Lakes of Michigan

Great comment. You’re right, when this level of talent was given mainstream exposure it was a beautiful time in country music history. Diffie doesn’t get enough credit for his early hits like this one.
@jscountrygirl85_3262 жыл бұрын
@@Erix7810 Thank you! The early 90's is still one of my favorite periods in country music because there just seemed to be an endless well of talent and great songs during that time, not to mention the music actually sounded country! I also agree that Diffie doesn't get enough credit for his earlier music. Songs like this one, "If You Want Me To," "Home," "If The Devil Danced.." "New Way To Light Up An Old Flame," and "In My Own Backyard," are some of my most favorites of his.

I consider myself fortunate to have met him and experience his stage presence and talent. A former girlfriend nurse was unfortunately called in to work on the weekend we had planned to attend his performance. I was a few hundred feet from his motorhome and against a fence row. I asked him to please say a brief hello to my absentee date on the phone. He graciously said hello to her, pre performance, wished her well and I informed him we are fans forever and to the end. Which sadly occurred 10 yrs later.
