Was there something wrong with the sound or something? Did'nt seem like the guitar's amplification worked.

It worked, but the sound guy had a terrible mix. The guitar was way too low, and Joe's vocals are distorting when he pushes hard. But none of that takes away from the performance- it's still Joe Ely live at Farm Aid, and it's still incredible.
