easy for me to believe this guy was trying to cash in after the studio cancelled his shot at a new movie career. He hasn't written anything (per IMDB) since 2006. well, except for this bit of fiction. Mel's angry "tirade" that was recorded seemed legimate. The rest? Meh. Joe's entire approach and timing is way too suspicious and certainly unprofessional. Bet he never works again.

If you do a little research on Eszterhas, he then narrowly survived cancer and became Catholic. His beliefs are a bit different now than they were when he did Basic Instinct.

not making money. The guy is an acclaimed and successful writer he doesnt need mels money. He released the recording and it showed Mel was behaving way out of line. The guy is just standing up for himself.
