He was a Coryell guy who never had the QB he wanted for that type offense in DC, but he adjusted his offenses to his talent and won 3, when the Giants and 49ers were competition. I can't imagine what he would have done with the right QB.

Don’t like jgr on the track per se as I grew up a Hendricks motors guy but, this has given me a new appreciation for joe Gibbs and what he’s been through, both he and Rick Hendrick are living legends who have been through more than many have multiple times over and still they rise. Resilient men.

What made Joe so great is that he stood in his lane which was the offensive side and delegated his responsibilities. Richie Pettibone did the defense and Joe stayed away from that. Bobby Beathard was able to draft the right guys and it all worked out.

As somebody who grew up with a parent like this I'll never understand why they think watching us play sports counts as a bonding moment like you're watching me have fun with my friends That's not us bonding( it's clear that some of you don't know the difference from showing support and bonding. For bonding you actively have to do something other than spectate)

@@arb8991 you clearly missed the point the difference is being active versus being a spectator. That's like saying I bonded with lebron James because I went to a Lakers game. Sitting on the sidelines and watching somebody play a sport does not count as bonding( there is a difference from being supportive and bonding simply showing up to a game is being supportive)

I talked to a friend 9f mine who started out coaching at Eastern Illinois when Mike Shanahan was there and he was friends with Mike Tice. He told me that coaches work 16 and 18 hour days one regular basis. No family life and never see the kids. He quit coaching and went in to insurance. Bottom line you have to have the most understanding wife on the planet. NO LIFE!!!!
