Yeah both looked pretty slow. But Joyce's jab was decent speed, and that's what won him the fight- when you lose vision in one eye from swelling, it's easier to miss the slow punches since you lose peripheral vision.

Joyce would have won regardless of the eye injury. He was possibly a bit sharper as the rounds went on, whilst Dubois slowed. Tje closing rounds would have been all Joyce. Joyce looks slow and ponderous. That's his natural rhythm. He doesn't care if he's hit. He takes a shot to give one. When he needs to let his hands go, he can. He looks terrible, but he's a very efficient boxer with a high, albeit slow output. Dubois' best chance was getting him out early. Joyce takes a shot better than probably any other heavyweight, so that didn't happen. Dubois was up on scorecards because he went for it early. The pendulum swung because Dubois was slgetting heavy footed, whiost Joyce was coming on.

Never thought Joyce will last more than 3 rounds. Great fight. At the end Joyce's experience was the difference. Joyce knew that for him it was all about taking the fight beyond round 5. From there on, it is a matter of time with the inexperience of Dubois. Dubois actually boxed well. I think he was not quiet prepared for this fight. I believe he will take a leaf out of AJ, Tyson etc and learn the skill of tactical boxing. Best fight so far in the COVID period.

What fight were you watching? Dubois was absolutely not smashing him whatsoever, Joyce kept him on the end of the jab all night and out punched him massively, Joyce might be slow but he’s relentless and has an unbelievable engine, constantly throwing punches. That coupled with an iron chin makes his a tough fighter. Dubois was knocking out journeymen (and some of them he couldn’t even finish) and people thought he was the finished article until he stepped into the ring with someone who actually fights back. Easiest £200 I made in my life on that night.

Their have been world champions who never fought amateur. I agree that their pro career has just started or “”Begun.”” But you mentioned how far they have made it. Where exactly are they? I was referring to their amateur background I don’t know if you are aware but both of them are top amateur pedigree having over a 100 fights Joyce in particular is a veteran In the amateurs. I personally think both will have a long successful pro career ahead of them because if their amateur success. Admittedly they look slow and take a lot of shots but like I said not every boxer has to look good in the process to get the job done

@@Malik-xb5wz My friend I have fought in The Nationals in The amateur’s in the 156 pound or Jr. Middle Weightclass. This was after advancing by winning The Nevada St, Southern California St, and Region 14 Championships. The country is broken into 16 Regions. Look it up if you doubt me. Just to make it to The Nationals you are one of the top 16 fighters in the country in your class. Even though they may not verbally rank you that way. My main sparring partner was former national champ Ross Thompson who lost that year to Vernon Forrest in The Weilterwight division who also became a sparring partner as well as a world Champion. I’m not saying you are wrong, I respect your opinion. Actually you said I was wrong. Respectfully, we shall see my friend. I am going to watch this video again and see if I missed something.
