One in 80 million was Longthorne may he rest in eternal peace, he was easily one of the greatest voices to ever come out of Great Britain. So many have passed away from this wonderful program, some wonderful warm stars who entertained now up sparkling at night.

A few months before he died he was up here in Suffolk and unbeknown to me a guy I knew knew him. He told me when we were having a beer that he and another friend went out for dinner with him a few nights before. I couldn’t believe it . They didn’t know I was a fan so didn’t ask me to join them. I’m sick to my stomach that I never had a chance to meet Joe even though I had seen him in concert. I would’ve loved to have met him snd introduced him to my wife. He was such a lovely man. Also, obviously ridiculously talented. Such a frigging loss. So talented

I never knew Joe but just watching "This is your life", he was an amazing artist and friend to many. He is in Heaven entertaining now, making people happy as usual, God bless his family, must be difficult to lose such a joyful soul 🌹🌞🙏

I met Joe and Jamie in Spain and Joe and I sang together at the bar at a mates gig..Joe offered me to join his band and be his backing bass voice vocalist as Joe said I sounded like Elvis Presleys JD Summer..Joe passed away about 1 year later and he wrote me a beautiful quote about my singing...such a loss to the world an increadable human being with supernatural gifts to entertain❤

The theatre on the North Pier here in Blackpool is named after him. He was immense. He was so ill so often yet kept fighting and he was not only badly-treated by the press, who for years made their nasty insinuations about his private life (nobody's business by the way) and also tv was often strangely absent from his career. He should have been primetime Saturday night. Bless him.

Just the horns at the beginning……boom…..walking down the hallway, mum and dad are watching tv in the front room ☁️“Oh no not “this is your life” again!” As a kid I would groan internally at this (not this specific episode) and couldn’t understand why HeMan wasn’t on, as it was far better than this. Happy glow. I absolutely loved him when I was a nipper, could not understand how he could switch and do those things with his voice, he was like a magician to my little eyes.
