I appreciate this vid a lot! I noticed another good tip for a general quick exchange is a stationary non power right hand. Works perfect as it matches Joe’s style with a 1-2 to get a quick couple of cheeky scoring shots in but you have to stand still.

The closest I've done to inside fighting is my Frazier video; those hooks are wild. But I'll cue up some Frazier and Canelo this weekend on the front foot and try and show how I use those guys in an aggressive manner if possible. Definitely out of my wheelhouse but i'll give it a go.

to control my spacing i hit l2 a lot like i’ll move forward and hit l2. sometimes i approach ppl and stop in my tracks with l2 and that will make them throw a punch.

I use to do that. All threw early access i would feint or hit L2. And I've advocated for hitting L2 as much as possible in order to stop directly in your tracks. But slow walking allows me to throw punches off their trajectory - so it ends up being a better alternative unless I'm trying to cut the ring off. Then I'll have to keep hitting L2 to get that straight line of sight.

@@SoundsByJosh Bruh.. It's SO annoying. Any punch you throw that doesn't have a directional alternative, will lunge you that direction if you hold the stick that way while throwing it. I.E: There is no left or right directional punch for the straight. So if hold that direction and throw a straight, it'll automatically cue up a step. Backwards on a lead body hook, sideways on a body jab, etc etc. So lowering the stick sensitivity will def help with that a lot. Especially if you have stick drift at one of those directions. It'll get you in a lot of trouble.

You’re reminding me of me man lol. Extremely high attention to detail that you don’t see in most folks. I see you noticed the removal of the “measured” steps after the last update as well. Some boxers have it as their default base movement which is cool, but there was also a standard generic version of it that you could use with all boxers. I immediately noticed when it came up missing and was highly disappointed, I used it to measure distance as well.

They lazy manned it, likely figured if it’s not in the game, it can’t randomly occur. 🤣😂. The little things matter. Guys like us are boxing fans first. That matters.

Flick the left stick backwards, it'll cue up the step animations. Also, if you flick the stick left or right (or any direction the punch doesn't have a variation in) on punches that don't have directional variants (body jab, straight, uppercuts) it will automatically do the steps for you after those punches.

@@JMacc1979 on the account that I Play ranked on (Jose Aldo Jr) I am 43-6. I broke into good 2 the other day and every single fight was what you described. It honestly made me not want to play ranked anymore, because I don’t want to constantly play against that to break into platinum etc. I myself am a lateral mover by nature. I like backing up and circling out but I always try to return to the center of the ring. In ranked, you almost have to just give these guys a taste of their own medicine. But the best distance closer in the game is Nigel Benn. If he wasn’t in a Canelo/Jones infested division, you’d catch every runner easily.

Yea, you can tell the developers put this game together with love. I like slower paced matches so I can appreciate the movement animations. However, the game is sorely missing punching off of center/ in the lean/weave. That was a big oversite by the devs , confused as to how they left that out.

Can you make a video or give me some tips on what technique you use to get up from the knock down mini-game? I just realized I was doing it wrong as I was spamming and alternating the triggers and could barely get up from the 2nd knockdown while my opponent was able to get up from 4/5 knockdowns.

@@leryeo im going to be honest with you brother. I am absolutely awful at the minigame. I try not to hit the canvas too often because i’m bad at getting up. But I generally tap the triggers very lightly and try to keep the line centered either side and then get read for the climb or descent.

Details matter, like all the old school fighters having black boots...Rocky, Joe, Ray, Floyd Patterson never wore white boots in the ring, they simply weren't out yet. But at least they let u pick the alt black..but red striped are unnecessary and inaccurate. Roy joynes should not have a Philly shell D, he simply was an anti Philly shell fighter...he faced James Toney...they both were not doing the Philly shell.. Toney does...Roy's guard is standard anf mostly athletic pullbacks..I as the player need to be able to change this.
