Let's be fr rn the reason why they didn't work out was because Joe wanted to stop murdering people he wanted to be a good person especially for love but when he found out that love herself killed people he lost it and mainly because love killed Delilah the person Joe was sure he was going to let go that is the start of when their relationship started to deteriorate and after that Joe never felt the exact same way about love yes the sparks were reignited but never the same and another thing is love never wanted to stop she was ready to kill anyone at anytime has they done something bad to her or her family and also she is very very impulsive joes kills are planned and taken care of properly whereas loves are not hers are messy and careless at first she had her parents money and then cancer as an excuse and after Joe came into her life most of the kills were taken care of by Joe his ideas or theirs together and this happened when Joe wanted to stop the only two bodies we don't know what happened to are delilahs and candaces which I assumed were taken care of by loves parents money. Joe couldn't trust love because of how impulsive she is and love can't trust Joe because she knows that he will kill her if he starts to hate her in a way they are perfect for eachother but they are also the worst for eachother
