I can imagine Joe telling a shocked Flash about when he (Joe) was bullied in middle school even though he was bigger than the other kids and was a gentle giant because he knew using his size physically against other kids was wrong. Then, in high school, Joe had made it his business to stand up for those kids who were being picked on. Good for him. 😎 (From my perspective, Joe probably did what Thomas F. Wilson did when it came to bringing Biff Tannen from the Back to the Future films to life - he drew on his experiences of being bullied in order to bring Flash to life.)
